Apparently I got in on the first shipment Dedicated Audio is getting and should have mine sometimes in July. Meanwhile, rocking the M20s. They are no slouches!

They won't be shipping to customers in the US until the third week in July. Obviously, on a first come, first serve basis, so I would order asap to have a better chance at getting a pair soon.

If listening to mostly multi-channel music I can see using larger speakers and or a larger room but if the primary purpose is Home Theater and movies a speaker like the Emit or SR would do you just fine. Some of the newer pre/pro's and or receivers allow you to properly EQ a room in with room correction technology like Audyessey MultEQ or Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System MCACC and or YPAO by Yamaha all of these system help calibrate the room and does a great job of adjusting your speakers to suit your listening environment and can do wonders in relatively quick amount of time. If movies are the key and your room isn't huge and you have plenty of bass via your main speakers and subs a decent smaller speaker will work perfectly fine.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, those are my speakers. The room is large, 24' x 25' with a tall ceiling. Plenty of bass in it though.

Very sketchy.... But Audiogon has been much better than "Audiomart" as they let anyone on that place.. Audiomart has been free, but I have a feeling that will change soon.

that dude had a pair of regular evidence for around 12-14k IIRC when I was speaker shopping. I was tempted but the location scared me off, and even at that bargain price they were over budget for me

I've been advertising a few things on usaudiomart. Yea, it's cheaper than Audiogon, but I think the clientel is of a lower caliber. I've never been approached by so many low-ballers. Most of them are foreign.

Why would I sell something at half my asking price and then have to go though the pains of 2-3 hours of export paperwork? And then worry about some BS PayPal chargeback? No thanks. I'll stick with Audiogon.

I have all of her CD's, now burned over too my Sony HAP unit, and I agree! The Emit 20s are pretty remarkable feat by Dynaudio producing such a great sounding speaker at a reasonable cost.

Friends, considering all version of Confidence C4, the original one is a best buy compared to the new Contour 60?

I think it's safe to assume that the Special 40 is going to absolutely murder those Emits.

I didn't think the Contour 20 "murdered" the m20s last time I heard them. Better overall, yes, no doubt.

Sounds like quite a few forum members are jumping on board with the special 4o's,including me possibly. As a group,we might be big/strong enough to challenge the Focus 260 fanboy club for their title.

I am sure their will be some vast differences, what Dynaudio's will you compare them too?

no quarter: I think the 260 and the 160 where great speakers... I think the new Special 40 will be great, it will be interesting to hear people compare them to the Contour 20's... The Emit 20 are a great speaker based off of price verses performance, that's for sure, more fair comparison would be the Contour 20...

Now that's a bit absurd. I'd say the Focus 160 murders the Emit 20's (in my opinion), and the Special Forty is sure to be well above the 160.

For the money, the Emits are good, but without that qualifier they are nothing special.

Depends on what you are looking for, IMHO if you want amazing midrange up and great bottom, end get the C4's. If you want amazing bottom end and great midrange up get the C60's... Although I wouldn't trade my C4's for C60's until I was able to do an extended in home comparison with an A B A B A B A B A B A B..... comparison hehe.

Most of us are speculating without actually hearing them, some of us are doing a blind buy which isn't so bad considering we know Dynaudio reputation. I had several friends at the Munich show, and they stated that they where superb for the money, very similar situation as the Emit 20s but more refined sound and better quality etc.., as you go up the food chain one would think they would be better but some times that isn't always the case with other speaker manufactures but lets hope Dynaudio consistency at staying true to the music continues.

I'm really excited to do an A B comparison with the C20 and S40... I really like the C20, but the size of the S40 is really tempting.

Although I'd rather have D 1.1's over either, just at close to 3x the cost of the C20's, it's hard to come off the $$$...

That's a tough call as the Raidho sound is definitely different! Lars told me at the 2016 Axpona show that Raidho are more of a near field speaker and much more up close and personal.. I wouldn't say the D 1.1's best the Contour C1's that's for sure, totally different sounds, but again difficult task and difficult undertaking unless you have speakers side by side and are able to do a comparison test. Otherwise your going off of memory, and that is all speculative opinion! I would love to hear the D1.1/Contour 20 and 40's and I only know of one place that has them, or might have all of them at any given time and that is Tylers new place in Chicago. I can compare the Confidence C2 Platinum's and Emit 20 right now, and I would definitely apply Sodipop analogy of "murders them" in this case for sure! Still doesn't diminish the value much on the Emit as they hold their own against many other speakers in their price range and above. It will be cool to hear what other speakers people are comparing the Special 40's to, and hopefully some side by side comparisons which would be great.

Been out of it for a week... Enjoyed the comforts of hotel living in the tropical paradise of Maui. I'll have to catch up but I'll leave you guys a photo I took; the top photo I'm standing at the top of Haleakala looking over to the northwest mountains -Lahaina on the left and Wailuku to the right where we hiked Waihe'e Ridge trail. In the bottom photo I'm at the top of the Waihe'e Ridge trail looking at Haleakala. In the valley to the west is Kihei and to the east is Kahului. Also in both photos you can see both sides of the oceans surrounding the island however it's much easier to see in the Haleakala photo, it was clear to the naked eye at the top of Whaihe'e also.

You are right, i´m also doing a blind buy. But that´s because i have been enjoying my audience 52 SE since 2004 and i know Special Editions worth it.
