Hello fellows comrades.

I would like to hear opinions on a direct comparison of the Focus 600xd and the original Confidence C4. I would pair the second with Hegel 160 or 360 (which suit me better), or an equivalent integrates amp (if you can suggest alternatives too).

I mainly listen to rock and metal.

How would them compair regarding dynamics, stage and refinement?

Regards,
Eduardo.

Mr Integration is the guy you need to ask here Eduardo,he had the old C4's,switched to XD 600's,and I believe he is back using new C4's...maybe PM him,if he does not reply to your question.I am curious why you are asking though, are you seeking more Dynamics than the XD's are giving you?Have you added subwoofer's yet?

Personally I would choose the C4's. I'm not into the 600XD's.
In my opinion, you would need at least the Hegel H-360! Although it's still on the small side, to be able to get the full potential (sound) out of the C4.

Cheers!

Emflorence: Both Hegel will run them with no problems.... I have had the C4's and currently have the C2 Platinums and frankly I rarely turn on my sub because they provide nice bass, depending on your room and what you mostly use it for will depend on it you need a Sub or not.. Frankly the best all around speaker for rock and metal I found to be the Focus 260. I went from about 10+ Years of Musical Fidelity gear to Hegel then to Belles within a about a year, and right now I am in heaven with the combo... I would look for a good Amp/PreAmp combo as well!

Guys,I have been struggling getting my Naim Core to work properly, mainly due to things I did wrong when I started out,but Today,I at least managed to get an entire album to play for me through it's SPDIF out, directly into my XD 600's,Pink Floyd's "The Final Cut" and the result was simply stunning!

Thank you all for your answers. The point is that my speakers is white, this was the only one available here.

The problem here is that I think the C4 looks aesthetically better than the Focus xd. I am happy with the sound of it, no complains. Just wondering if it does makes any sense on trading it.

If I only could paint or coat the speakers with new finishing i would be happier. Soundwise i don't miss a thing.

Glad to hear it's all working well now!

A few weeks ago I had at&t come out and move my wifi router and hard wired the Uniti2 to the router, I haven't had any issues getting anything to work at all now.

Thanks Callas, mine is also hard wired to my router,I just went about importing my music wrong, which did not allow it to work right. Now though,I am having trouble with the Naim app controlling the Core,it seems to work fine with my 272...the app keeps saying "streamer not responding",and will not allow me to re-format the hard drive. It looked like it was working when I left for work tonight,so I am hoping the issue is solved when I get home.To me,Naim made a mistake by not giving you a remote with the Core, soundwise though,it is fantastic.

Does anyone of you have Xfinity DVR plugged into AVR and does it play in a HT setup? I mean are you able to get the sound of cable TV channels in a HT setup? I have tried it multiple times but it just doesn't work. Xfinity techincal team wasn't able to resolve it either. Any help will be big help.

I have the Xfinity X1 DVR and it runs correctly with my 7.2 setup I'm running the video straight to the TV and audio to my PRE/PRO (Emotiva XMC-1) via Toslink...

My app had an update today to help with connectivity of the app and the core/atoms. Plus something to do with playing music over older systems.... idk exactly. Maybe if you have the app ready for an update, it might help.

Does anyone know if there is a means to touching up damage Dynaudio speakers? Specifically ones that have sun fade and some cabinet chipping?

I did the update already,it did not seem to solve the problem I was having.I think it is more to do with the firmware on the Core, but could be wrong.

Works for me into a Marantz AV8801 via HDMI with no special configuration.

I assume you're using HDMI. Can you confirm? Does you have any problems connecting the DVR directly to the TV?

Do you get a picture, but with no sound? Or no picture and no sound?

Other than a bad input or a settings/configuration problem, a common cause of this kind of problem with HDMI is HDCP handshaking. HDCP encrypts the content stream from source to destination. The DVR, AVR, and TV need to handshake to establish that encrypted connection all the way through from the DVR to the TV, otherwise you a blank screen with no audio and/or HDCP errors. I have an old Pioneer Kuro plasma TV and it has no problem with any AV equipment I've tried, but I've had a few computers which wouldn't handshake with it.

You could try connecting the DVR to different inputs on your AVR, or try connecting another known good component into the AVR input you're trying to use for the DVR. Just to rule out a bad input or AVR input assignments/configuration problem.

Yes, I'm using HDMI from DVR to TV for Video. I get picture and the sound is only through TV. I tried to use HDMI for audio too from DVR to AVR and plugged it into the CBL/SAT option into my Marantz 6008 so that I could get the sound into my Dyns but it doesn't work at all.

I run an optical out of my TV to my cinema 12,everything the TV plays, can be played through the 5.1 set-up.Like RED said, you might have to go into the audio out menu of the TV,set it for PCM I believe. Then when you choose that input on your AVR,you should hear it through your speakers.
