Hey...Dyns ain't exactly cheap either, lol. I tried a First Watt M-2, and was just blown away. I think that amp, retails for $3600; but if memory serves, I got a used one...in fine shape...for like $1200! Amazing!
Not enough juice, for my power-hungry speakers at the time; but I loved the sound of it. If I weren't going for one of the big-buck Pass', I'd surely try his new F-6.
Here's a very cool fact, about the class-A 30.8: it's a BEAST, but rated 30/60. Those of you who know class-A, know it's terribly
inefficient. But there's sooo much headroom...it doesn't sound at all, like you'd expect 30/60 to sound; if you're used to A/B.
A reviewer...astounded at the "power" of the 30.8...asked NP, what it would likely be rated, if biased in A/B. Using the same hardware, but tweaking the circuit; Nelson surmised around 300 ponies per side...8 ohms!
