As cool as flagship models are, I like to see a company's entry-level offerings as it shows how invested they are in the "average" consumer.

Meh. I agree. Show your low- and mid-range product. Perhaps the XD 400 as the middle of the road. This and the XD 200, bang/buck, would be most interesting to me.

Current HiFi: Dynaudio Focus 260 | Meridian Direct DAC | NAIM SuperNait 2
Past HiFi: Dynaudio Excite X16 | Dynaudio Focus 160 | Harman Kardon HK3490 | NAIM XS2 (70wpc version)

Agreed... But it may depends on which room on the 12th fl they are in. Some of those rooms are huge. But there are going to be 3 other dealers. Looks like room 1202 for Dynaudio along with rooms 410 - 412 and 534 per the updated exhibitor list.

I like the idea of self powered speakers. I am transforming a room into a dedicated space and will have AC at each location.

The other option is Genelec or Tannoy
Tannoy is great and sonically looks a bit like Dynaudio: neutrality and warmth. I don't like Genelec, personally. Genelec has a very distinct "family sound". I've mixed quite a few tracks on Genelecs, but it's difficult to get it right with only Genelecs. Because everything sounds "too good" too quickly on them, and they're not as revealing of low level detail, micro dynamics and timbral changes than some other monitors.

They could do that with a swipe of a pen right now because of everything being made their. When I was there Shanghai years ago, my asthma kicked in which I haven't had since I was 5 that's how polluted the air is.

As far as Axpona I will be packing my good camera as well, I can't remember if they let you take pictures, but everyone has a frickin camera on their cell phone these days.

I'll be going to THE Show Newport in May I'll take some photos and report on some of what I hear. I haven't seen Dynaudio on the list but I see some Dyn dealers in the list, so we shall see!

Dyn gents: I have the opportunity, to take a pair of Audience 62s on trade. Can someone give me an idea, of their value on the used market?

Thanks!

Well at Axpona I learned one thing "Content is King" meaning a very good recording is a must when demoing speakers, I felt like there was only a few rooms that got that part right.

The Dynaudio Evidence Room was excellent one of my favorite rooms, I didn't feel the XD where that good I wanted to like them but I think they should have used better content as they didn't wow me... The C2 room they were using not very good material for demoing them, and they are one of my favorite speakers. On another note the C1 MKII in the Sim Audio room sounded fantastic as that room was very well laid out and did showcase the Dynaudio very well. I though the XD were in too small of a room, as in that room I would of had the X200 playing not the X600, regardless nice looking speakers and decent sounding but not a Wow you need to trade in your C2 for them....

2 out of the 4 Dynaudio Room were done right other other two the content maybe they were using wasn't a good fit for showcasing these....

My favorite rooms were the Dynaudio Evidence Room with Mark Levinson gear, along with the Raidho/Scansonic Room. The KEF room was very well done and their LS50 shined along with their Reference series, the shocker for me was the ML Neolith and Macintosh line very well done. The Moon Audio room with the C1 MKII was very well done as well.

Poor lighting in most the rooms didn't help the cell phone grabs, I took much better pictures with my other camera..... will post later... I did notice most of the rooms that did sound the best where using a CD and a Dac, most of the rooms that were using computer audio just didn't seem to have that wow factor.

I can't remember how much these go for, but they look to be in good shape. Seller feedback is pretty meh.

Here are a few Dyns from the show, all looked great and most sounded great, a couple of the rooms needed some better tunes playing but as usually pretty sweet sounding. Both Mick and Mike where very knowledgeable and nice as always, Dynaudio is lucky to have these guys and it was nice seeing the faces behind the great speakers.

CD: Yes they where the lower smallest out of the floor standers at the time.
