Just wondering if the Focal cc700 would be a good match for my Focal 807V fronts. No longer is there an 800 series Center so went with the cc700. Coming from a Bose VCS 10 don't laugh as I know but will the 700's be a difference like night and day.

I just purchased a Focal cc700 center to go with my 807V's. I really enjoy my 807V's but I never hear much about the cc700 center channel speaker. Why is that?

The new Aria's finish, slightly different than the previous walnut:

Could You be more precise? Is there really any difference between the previous walnut and the present one?

I can judge only from the pics, borrowed them from an French audio site. The new finish looks darker than the old walnut.

I think it is a matter of different shading in this particular photo.

P.S.
Looking at the set of five Aria speakers in this photo, I think that Focal unfortunately ignored the owners of 948 who would like to build a surround system. In the Aria series there is only one center CC 900 which is completely inadquate in set up with 948 as fronts.
948 will definitely diminish CC 900 and the whole front scene won't be as coherent as it should be.

I have 948's with the CC900 and I would agree with this statement. Also, I'm a little disappointed that the CC900 is rear-ported which isn't ideal if you are mounting your center against a wall under a TV as I am. If it's free standing below it's not an issue, but that is somewhat limiting.

I can tell you, seeing pics of the Aria speakers does them no justice. You have to see them in person. I saw the gloss black in person and they are stunning. The craftsmanship is incredible. The glass top has Focal printed on it. The front of the speaker with the grill off is leather.. I was super impressed. Absolutely worth the 3k-$3500. They didn't have a walnut pair.

My gloss black 948's are beautiful, and they may be for sale...

I had the Chorus CC700S. It was rather horrible, especially compared to a set of Chorus 716S front speakers that were rather good for their price.
The "CC700S" was replaced with the "CC700V", which was then replaced by the "Chorus 700 CC700", not to be confused with the original Chorus "CC700".

Assuming you just purchased a new Chorus 700 CC700, it is 2 generations newer than what I had so hopefully performs much better.

Goodluck, and please share a review when you have time.

1038 Be's are towers. 1008 Be would be the bookshelf model.

Oh it's not me that's upgrading to 1038 Be's. I just upgraded from 1038 Be's to Revel Salon 2's (but still have a pair of 1038 Be's in my 2 channel home office system).

After you listen to those Revels for a while let us know if you still consider it an upgrade.

They're both great speakers. I've only had the Revels for a little over a week, but they definitely have better bass extension, seem to image better, and handle some tracks at high volume levels that caused the 1038's to sound distorted (Paper Airplane from Alison Krauss's Paper Airplane album being a specific example). Build quality of both is excellent, but Revel nailed the speaker grill design as the grills can be removed / put back on very quickly while the Focal grills are a PITA (not too big a deal as I don't tend to take the grills off). So far, I'm happy with my decision.

Until you start picking them up while setting and realizing they're very light and that cheap veneer. I had the 926 and 905 in walnut for a week at home... May want to compare with other speakers first. The sound probably worth 3k, not craftsmanship.

Really? I never actually touched them. Hmmm,I thought they looked really good. Loved the leather on the front. Maybe its the veneer that is cheap. The gloss black didn't look cheap at all. I also thought the Sonus Faber venere 2.5's looked cheap,so I passed on them.

I respect your opinion but i must say this is the frst time i've ever seen Focal speakers being characterized has poorly built with cheap materials. I'm in the 800v series and drooling all over my keyboard whent i go into this thread and see all you guys with Arias, Electras etc... My mains are 816v and i wouldn't say they're poorly built. I find them to be very stylish and sexy speakers and the Arias are even better looking. One thing i can agree with you is that the 926's are about the same size has mine and even have almost the same specs. If i were to upgrade to Arias i woudnt go bellow the 936.

Focal Chorus 816v, CC800, 807V, SVS PB2000, OPPO 103D, MRX 500, Cambridge Audio stream magic 6 v2.

I can't speak to the 926, but I personally think you aren't being truthful here or are being malicious on purpose. Focal does not build poorly crafted speakers, certainly not from the Aria line up.
