Hi,
I am not able to PM you.
I am also looking into revel floor standing with center. I got a price quote from local dealer .Dealer here offered F206 pair in piano black for 2500 with center c205 for 799. They are also giving surround speakers for 699 pair. I think they are s206 but not sure. Is that a decent price. Should I negotiate

Seems like a pretty good deal. You're at a pretty significant discount for the F206s. The center is about 20% off list. There's a little bit more room to negotiate on the C205, if you want to push it. I don't know about the surrounds.

My local Revel dealer was selling F206 for $2000 pair and F208 for $3000 pair recently.

Forty percent off on the F208s? Wow, I know there are huge markups on these things, but that sounds almost too good to be true.

I think those are excellent prices. I can't say my guy can beat those, but you never know. And I always negotiate.

PM sent.

Guys...remember where you are - Price talk only in designated deals areas. We've received several complaints and would prefer not to ban you from this discussion.

Greetings, I joined the Revel owners a bit over a year ago when I replaced my Focal 807w's with F-52s. That was a huge step up. I listen to 2 channel music 60%/movies and TV 40%.
Last fall I replaced my old center speaker with a Revel c-32 as the size fit my available space. It sounds nice and blends well with the 52s. I have an old pair of B&W bookshelves in service as surrounds/rears. There is so little content in the rears/surrounds, to me they are a low priority to upgrade.
I have a Hsu VTF-2 MK4 Subwoofer and have been thinking about adding a second subwoofer.
I saw a Concerta B-12 on craigslist and am thinking about adding it to my speaker menagerie.

The B-12s look to be 10 years old and original list was $999. How does it compare with the Hsu? If I can get it for 1/3 of original, would that be a good value or should I save the cash for a bigger, better subwoofer upgrade come xmas.
Thank you in advance. Cy

Welcome to the Revel fanboy club!

Personally speaking if you have a $500 budget id suggest going with an HSU or SVS Sub. As great as Revel subs are (and I speak from B15 experience) the modern subs have caught up and offer super price/performance. Those would be my suggestions and always go for multiple subs. Harman's science via Todd Welti proves it.
65 Electra Glide and cyesp like this.

Just want to say if anyone is considering the F206 speakers you cannot go wrong. After 2 years these still earn an Editors Choice award from The Absolute Sound and IIRC they were also their $5,000 and under speaker of the year one year. I traded in my beloved PSB Goldi and got B stock (available at store in Des Moines) just so I could own a pair. They are absolutely superb.

At $5K and under, I would go with the larger F208s over the F206s if you can afford it. After some very extensive listening to many speakers, the F208s were superior to just about everything else I liked to in that price range. The most expensive speakers I listened and compared them to (based on list price) were the PSB T3s. The F208s were still better in every way possible.

IMO there are two aspects why the F208 are worth the extra money. First, the bass response is much better with the larger woofers. Depending on how low you really need to go, you can do away with the sub unless you really wanted to get low and/or really feel the bass.

The second aspect, which I felt was more important, is that the F208 sounds more natural and open. Since the F206 is in a smaller cabinet, the sound felt a little constrained. That's not to say it was a bad sound, but you'll notice that it might struggle a bit because of its size. The F208 had no such problems. The sound you hear "feels" effortless and the F208s never struggle with anything you try to play on them.

I fully agree with this as an owner of the Revel B15a sub as well. I will never again by a retail sub. As Thxtheater had suggested, I'd always recommend a sub from one of the ID companies. Or if you know how to use a saw and clamps, go DIY for even better results than buying from an ID manufacturer for the same money or less. After going DIY, my B15a has been relegated to equipment stand duties in my bedroom.
