I think they do dip below 70hz or so, but I have no measurement means. Try setting the crossover to 80hz and take the centers out of the plugs. You can always put them back in if it's not to your liking.

BTW, a good review:

And the measurements:

Thanks for the links. The measurements do somewhat jive with my Audyssey results, though it does not indicate if the port was plugged... I assume not. Next time I need to run Audyssey, I will try the 1/2 plug. I would like to use 80 Hz as cross-over on all my speakers and perhaps the 1/2 plug will get me there.

I have an SVS SB2000 sub and crossover my R500's at 70hz, the R200 at the same and the R100's at 80. I think it sounds great in my 13.5' x 19' room and my guests seem amazed. Of course none are audiophile types so probably could be impressed by anything.

I do have a nullpoint listening position so know I really should add a second sub in the future.

I was running a pair of SB2000's before I went to the 16 ultras. Honestly, I liked the SB2000's better. Those are sweet little subs.

I'm very happy with the one I have for now. Since I'm really the only one listening 99% of the time, the null point doesn't affect me one bit so no hurry. I want to upgrade the suspension on my bike first as I'll get more joy out of that.

I do often wonder if the SB13 Ultra might be the best choice. In my space I really don't have room for anything larger, but someday I may turn the whole setup 90º and that could accommodate more/better subs. For now, where I have it located literally just to the left of and slightly behind the left front speaker it blends so perfectly seamless that you can't tell it's not full range speakers at work.

I just ordered a pair of these. Normally I don't buy speakers without auditioning them, but it seemed like a great deal on exactly what I need. I have a home theater setup that doubles as a music listening room. It's a pretty large room with a high ceiling. The fronts are 15 inch 6 way studio monitors from the 70s doubled with a pair of JBL towers. Klipsch Reference center and a 12 inch Sunfire True Sub. It is capable of putting out a LOT of very nice sound. I've been using a pair of mediocre Klipsch bookshelf speakers for rears and they do the job, but they can't keep up at higher volume levels. The HT installer told me the KEF R100s would be perfect for me because they're small, clean and capable of getting plenty loud to keep up with my front end. My rears are wall mounted a little above head height.

For those who own these speakers... Are you happy with how they sound?

I predict you may start changing out all your speakers to KEF eventually. The Uni-Q has exceptional clarity and the R-series is nicely balanced. I think you will find the sound more refined than your other speakers.

+1!

What he said. You're in for a treat, but don't take my word for it. For kicks, try them in place of the front mains you're using now, with the subs. I'd be surprised if you weren't....surprised.

That makes me feel a lot better about buying them without auditioning them first. Thanks! But I'm positive my mains aren't going anywhere. Back in the 70s my brother had a friend who designed and built speakers for JBL and Roger Sound Labs. He started his own company and my brother hired him to design and build the ultimate studio monitors for his McIntosh system. I ended up with them when my brother downsized a few years ago. They are the most incredible speakers I've ever heard, and I've heard some pretty fine speakers. I want to be buried with these mains!
