The Studio 60s sound amazing in my room! Have also purchased the Studio CC-590, but won't have it for a week. Sure hope that is as much of an upgrade as the loudspeakers were :D

Can't wait for tomorrow when my CC-590 v5 arrives! This will replace my current CC-370 center. I've definitely got the fever. Now I'd like to pick up some Studio S10 v5s for my rears :D .

Hi Millenia Owner's

I am currently building a house with a dedicated theater. I am starting from scratch and have not purchased anything at this point. I am having a hard time choosing between Mythos Ten or Millenia 30 (or maybe other brand????).

I know they are both wall mount, but i just like the look of all the speakers being off the ground even if it is a dedicated theater.

I plan to mount my screen to a decorative frame that sticks out from the wall about 5 inches with led lights behind the screen. This will allow the 5 inch or so Mythos Ten or Millenia 30 to be flush with the screen and it should look cool.

Can anyone help me with some guidance or other component selections? I think I like both setups below.

I am planning on going with either of the following.

Setup 1

L/C/R = Paradigm Millenia 30

R = Paradigm Surround 3 or

2 Sub = Paradigm DSP-3100

Setup 2

L/C/R = Definitive Technology Mythos Ten

R = Definitive Technology SR-8080BP

2 Sub = Klipsch SW-110 Subwoofer

Other common components I am thinking of

Receiver = Denon AVRX3000

Projector = Epson PowerLite 3030 3D 3LCD

Screen = Elite Screens ezFrame Series R106WH1 106" 16:9 Projection Screen

Blue Ray = LG BP530 3D

You should definitely demo these speakers in a home theater retailer. My experience is that in general the Paradigm speakers have better sound than the DefTech ones (at least when comparing the Millenia and Mythos lines), but when I made the decision to buy my Millenia 300s it was about 5 years ago, so maybe the DefTech speakers have gotten better. I'm not talking about the rest of the line, just the Mythos or Millenia.

Compare the speaker specs, but notice that DefTech isn't clear about where the -3db point is for the Mythos. I know that my Millenia is around 80Hz, so I got a sub with a 10" driver that is easily able to cover the gap all the way down from the 80Hz point where the Millenias roll off. A bigger sub could have given me more "boom" but it wouldn't have been as clear at the higher end of it's range where it needs to take over for the front speakers.

Good luck.

I am getting two 10 subs to cover even more. Why not?

2 Sub = Paradigm DSP-3100

:)

Hi everyone.
I will be traveling to NYC soon.When I am there I would like buy MilleniaOne 5.0 speakers.I prefer small speakers because of my living room size..and I love the design of MilleniaOne.
Actually I have cinema 90 ct series but it's time to change and I learned that there is a big difference between them so I decided to upgrade ..I have been looking for a good price for the millenia in NYC over internet but couldn't find it yet..Do you guys know any internet site or store in NYC selling MilleniaOne over good price?
Can I buy it around 1000$?

We had a local dealer that Paradigm dropped for selling on the internet and not following Paradigm's policies. I am not a dealer and do not know Paradigm's selling policies but I would start by looking at their dealer locator for New York or other areas you might be visiting and call those dealers directly. You should be able to find some that will sell to you while you are here.

I am in Canada, but it is very easy to get 15-25% off Paradigms. I imagine a similar discount would be available in the USA. You should be able to get 5 MillenaOne's for right around $1000.

Thanks for the respond. As you said, I am gonna get the dealers phone numbers from Paradigm dealer locator and call them. But it's said to learn that they dropped selling products over internet. They must have had a very good reason to do that while we are in internet age!

I think they do not allow shipping to protect their local dealers. It makes the playing field a little more equal for the little guy. Small dealers can't compete with the buying power and low overhead of some internet companies. From my understanding quite a few companies have similar policies. Just look at brands that AVS or Amazon doesn't sell and its a good chance they have similar policy. I understand these policies but I like good prices too. Did you contact any dealers near NYC? I hope you get as much of a discount as they do in Canada, you won't at my local Paradigm deal I am sure:-(

I see what you mean..It's a very good thought to protect small companies but I think there must be another way to do that. Now I am still in Turkey and would like to see the prices but it's very rare MilleniaOne price over internet.
I will contact the dealers as soon as I get to New York.and as you said I hope I will get a good price:)..thanks..
