Is any one using all 20's in a 5.1 system.. I am not sure my room needs to have the 200's..

my room is 14.6 ft long and about 12.6 in the front and 15ft in the back ..
I am trying to figure if the 20's would be enough...

The wife approves of these speakers..

I hope you'all like them as in my home town, I will NEVER go the Paradigm dealer EVER again, and I will encourage others to stay away!

Paradigm reference speakers are one of the better speakers I ever listened too. I own v3 studio speakers and I am in love with music right now. As I am typing this, I am listening to Stan Getz & Gilberto CD .. oh man .. it just fantastic. It sounds like they are in my living room and playing the live music for me!

That's what I figured, the XBR3 looks great. I have a good idea of what they do look like, but if anyone does have a picture, I would still like to see it.

Thanks for the tip Sigs!

I am seriously looking at these to begin building a ht sytem. I want to start with a 2.1 system and build upon it. I thought I read here that people are able to get these at 20% off. Where? My local shop will give me 5%, but that's it. On a side note, what do you think of pairing these speaker up with a Denon AVR-2307CI. The shop wants $799 for this receiver. Any other recommendation for a mid level receiver that can match the speakers and grow into a respectable system? My room is very small. I will likely only be able to add a sub and center channel.

Just back from my local dealer in Palo Alto - apparently the only Paradigm dealer in bay area. They don't stock any of the on-wall models in store. While they can special order the new Millennia 30's I am interested in, their initial stance is they won't let me audition or demo them. I am reluctant to buy them both unseen and unheard and with a "no return" policy.

Any ideas on the best way to handle this? I asked the salesperson to ask the owner about getting in a demo model, or allowing me to return the speakers if they don't work out in my theater, but he wasn't sure they would go for it.

if youre in the bay area i would just give up on paradigm... one dealer = no competition and ive been to that dealer and his auditioning environment is very flawed

here is a picture of black 200s. i dont think it matter if u go with the black or chrome, cause all u see is the black grill anyway.

btw: i returned mine yesturday, waiting for the studio 100 v4 as a replacement. I have the 20 as a cc, will return it and get the cc690.

also, i live in the bay area. there are 2 authorized dealers in the east bay and 2 in SF.

So why did you return them and go with the Studios? I felt somewhat pressured into buying the Millenias sight unseen, but at the 11th hour a demo pair finally came in (that wasn't already pre-sold); and as discussed previously was very disappointed with my audition. They did look good though... just didn't match my music >> HT ratio. Now ready to pull the trigger on the Studio 60's.

first of, i thought the millenia were really a good looking speakers that's why i brought them. second, my room is not ideal for HT. so, i dont blame the millenia speakers. I thought the millenia's were too soft for me. the 20 as a center were way too soft and low, i had to adjust the cc +5dB to get it balance with 200. My dealer did let me try the Monitor cc370 while i wait for the 20, and it sound alot brighter and the sound seem to jump out of the speaker (just the way i like), with the 20 i have to lean forward waiting for the sound.

Has anyone here compared the B&W XT series with the Paradigm Millenia 200's? I have not yet listened to the Paradigms and was not that impressed with the B&W's. If you have been able to compare both please tell what you think.

I have compared both.. I have always liked BW but Xt is not the best that bw has produced I am not a good reviewer so I will not try.... For the cost $2600 They sure did not sound like that.. ( Auditioned using Rotel ) They are nice looking but I felt the Millenia wore better for the price and liked the style a lor better ... At the bw price you are almost in the 800 class.. I would like to here the CM's that are coming out..

Also mkv15 what is the size of your room,,
My wife has limited me to a speaker the size of the Millenia, or the mirage.. I liked the Millenia a lot better for my room.. but I have a very open tv Room .. large cellings 14ft that opens to a kitchen ..I am hoping they work.. besides they are a lot better then what I have right now..

Sigs,
wait until your dealer has the 300 and 30 for demo. maybe it just me, but the 20 is weak as$ speaker. consider going with the 30 as your cc with 200.
