To be fair, there was only one bad review of the HTM61. For some reason, Thomas Norton decided to harp on the issue, it became overblown, and the rest of the internet jumped on the bandwagon. In reality, the HTM61 was a rather clever solution by B&W to the problem of the typical MTM arrangement. Rather than having listening positions both left and right of center compromised, with the HTM61, only listening positions left of center had reduced sound quality. My own auditions of the speaker (not an owner) found the off-axis performance to not be anywhere near as bad as the internet would have you believe. It really didn't deserve the reputation it got from one review.
