Given my direct experience in this regard, I'd say don't, but I understand the itch may require scratching...

What power do you recommend to drive 802's?

I'd look at Classe if money no object. Parasound Halo is excellent value.

I use 2 anthem p5's for my home theater. (Currently redoing the theater area)

They are 325 watts per channel. 2 power cords per amp.

I currently run 802d fronts.

Although I have not had mac or classe amps in my treated room, I am very happy with my current set up.

Also....

When you are using separate subwoofers in your system, the speakers require much less (watts) to drive.

When the speakers are "crossed over" to the subs.

Thanks. At present I drive my 802's with Krell 600 monos but thinking of getting 800's when next generation comes out. Just wondered how much power is necessary. I do use a B&W DB1 sub with multi channel but full range in stereo (my pre amp doesn't have sub out).
