I'm a regular folk...when was that?

I'd love to have some 800's (802's specifically), and could even afford them IF the stability of my marriage wouldn't be factored into affordability.

N805 MSRP was $2000 back in ~2005. Got them for $1400 when they were being discontinued. Excellent value for what they are, considering 805D3 now is something like $6000 with $1000 for stands, seriously??

Back then the N804 MSRP was $3500 now 804D3 is something like $9000, and N802 was $8000 back then, and it's $22000 for the D3. B&W priced their new 800 series only for very wealthy people. Anyways, I have opportunity to purchase the Signature 805. Was wondering how they Signature 805 compared to the N805, and the 805D. No desire to purchase the D series, as I personally don't see the value. The 800N series from the 2000s was a great value for what it was.

I definitely hope not and blame it more to room effects.
Something worth noting.

The Hi-Fi news review measurement was taken at the height of the fst mid driver, which is lower than the reference height. It's not likely to make a huge difference at normal listening distances but for measurements taken in close proximity it's likely to make a large difference because the drivers will not be correctly phase aligned.

It will be interesting to see future reviews of the new models in Stereophile magazine, where for the sake of consistency the tweeter height is mostly always the reference for measurements.

You know what this thread needs? A sticky with links to all the reviews available for every B&W speaker ever made. I think it would help us keep things in perspective and provide some entertaining reading. Right now I'm having trouble finding a review of the 800DS2s. Patrick, can you help us out?
