Even Magnolia will do the 10-15% off if you are buying more than one speaker.

Thanks!
I recently heard some 804D3's thinking they would be amazing and my future goal. And I was disappointed. I like a slightly recessed midrange but with these they went too far. They sound nice, with really nice highs, but with the midrange cut so much the vocals sounded distant. And with this big cut some of the midrange details that would've been great are hardly there. From what I remember I liked the D2 series better. Overall I prefer my Bryston Mini T's much more. They're more balanced and accurate, still not fatiguing, and sound quality and clarity is surprisingly almost right up there with them. Not sure what your budget is but I'd recommend looking for new or used Bryston T series, Kef Reference 1's and Dali Epicon. Demo as many speakers as you possibly can. My personal favourites are Yamaha NS5000 and Kharma S7's, but they'd both be rare to find used and still expensive.

I used some Scotts liquid gold and they look much better. Not an easy product to work with though.

Thx guys. I'm outside Philly.

Klipsch dealers will shave almost 40-50% off. Wild how much consumer electronics are marked up.

Go to Overture in Wilmington, DE. You'll likely be able to get a decent discount there and no sales tax. You're not going to get 40-50% off B&W unless it is discontinued or floor models.

Currently I have three CWM7.3 up front, two CWM7.4 for surrounds and 4 CCM682 for Atmos speakers. I am thinking about moving two of the CWM7.3's in the back for surrounds and purchasing 3 CWM8.3 for the front with the back boxes. Like the CWM7.3 which does not use the reservoir when used as a center channel do you still use the back box on a CWM8.3 as a center channel, those CWM8.3 back boxes look long. last would CWM7.3 and CCM682's blend with the CWM8.3's? I am thinking the new CWM8.3D's diamonds would not work with the CWM7.3's but I could be wrong. I could use my CWM7.4's as surrounds and do a 7.1.4 setup instead of 5.1.4. The walls in my place are not high enough to use the CWM7.3's as surrounds in a 7.1.4 setup due to the counter in the kitchen which opens up to the living room area. I live in a condo if that helps.

I already have the CWM7.3's so why not use them as surrounds because if i wen to sell them I would never get anything close to what I paid for them or even half at that. My concerns are would the 7.3 and 8.3 sound good together because you are pretty much using a CM series speaker with a 800 series speaker which are not in the same ball park.

I agree with this suggestion. The folks at Overture are great and as the OP said, you pay no sales tax on your purchase. Where I live, that is like getting an additional 6% discount!

Can someone tell me if JL Audio DL 108 is compatible with B&W speakers? I am having B&W CM10s driven by Denon AVR 4300. How is JL Audio in general compared to SVS or Velodyne, etc?

Perfectly compatible, and a great choice!

I can't speak to Velodyne, but JL Audio is a little spendy relative to SVS. Whether the extra $$ spent is worthwhile is a little bit in the eye of the beholder. You do get arguably better fit 'n finish, the JL Audio subs just look & feel substantial. But all of the well-regarded Internet Direct sub companies are doing good work nowadays - SVS, Rythmik, Hsu.

Hey guys,

Does anyone have any experience matching 802 D3 (Or any other Diamond) speakers with a center speaker from the CM2 series? The 802's were for me already a very heavy investment and I don't want to spend too much on a center channel as I won't use it nearly as much.

Thanks

I’ll second that regarding the Internet Direct companies. My 2 Rythmik FV15HPs compliment my B&W system very nicely!

Thanks dschulz and citrus86.
I am tempted to go with the B&W ASWCM10 to match other speakers but looks like that might not be enough for my setup and I will end up paying more. I can maybe get two of SVS or Rythmik for little more if not same. I guess I will start with one first.

That is exactly what I did - overpaid for an unremarkable B&W subwoofer (I was young and foolish at the time, and thought that having a matching brand would invoke some kind of sonic magic). Had I known then what I know now, I would have gone with a larger Rythmik, or a pair of small ones.

Hi all. Does anyone have any experience with the B&W DS3 rear surround speakers? I would be mounting on walls on the same plane as my seating area.

B&W 804 D3 Mains; B&W CM Center S2
SVS SB-2000 Sub; Mirage OS 3 Rear
Samsung Plasma TV
Anthem A5, Anthem AVM60, Schiit Bitfrost Multibit DAC
Rega Saturn CD; Oppo BPP-93 Blu-Ray
Furman Elite-20 PF Power Conditioner

I am trying to estimate the cost of a 800D3-based stereo rig. What would the amplification need to be to make it worth spending the money for the 800D3? In other words, what is the minimum electronics requirement for the 800D3, that would make its extra cost over, say, the 802D3 a good investment? I have three examples in mind:

2xClasse CA-M600 + Classe CP-800 (ideal system; should make the 800D3 shine)

CA-2300 + Classe CP-800 (Is 300W enough to make them truly show their potential?)

Sigma AMP2/AMP5 + Sigma SSP (I chose this as the cheapest option, and because it leaves room for surround channels, should I want to use it for my home theatre, but I am not sure it is a good match)

Thanks.

Consider 2xSigma Mono + Sigma SSP in place of the AMP2/AMP5
