I recently purchased a Sony HTIB (HT-DDW900), and I often find it hard to hear the center channel in a DD 5.1 broadcast with the volume at medium-low to medium. I am currently using the factory speakers. I am thinking about purchasing 2 pairs of ARVP25's from MCM and a ARXP242C from JR.

Would this help my problem with hearing the center channel? Also, would that center blend with the ARVP25's or should I purchase a center that matches the ARVP25's. ?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same setup in 7.1. The center channel is matched well to the 25's. You'll be please with both movie and music performance.

Looking at this I have to wonder what quality the XP410 are. They are $400 for a set, they each have a 10" woofer and would seem to be decent speakers.

I was about to purchase the Velodyne front row CHT but another member steered me in this direction...think I'll give 'em a whirl!

For those of you with this model, have you found the midbass to be muddy or sloppy? I read a review which the reviewer recommended plugging the port because the midbass was 'muddy'. I know thats not usually recommended, but I want to hear what others had to say about the issue?

I picked up a pair of Polk RC85i in-walls for $169.90 from 99.5% positive "the_e_warehouse" on ebay. Most places have them for $315 and they MSRP for $389.95. Seemed like a ridiculously good deal for an easy, better than average in-wall. I'll find out for sure in a few days...
