I noticed this site too when looking for the 360 (bestpriceaudiovideo). Got excited when I saw this at the bottom of their 360 product details page:

We ONLY sell USA retail Infinity Beta C360 Center Channel Speakers.
Comes with a 5-year USA limited warranty through Infinity.

Then checked the Infinity site list for authorized dealers and they are not listed. Never got an e-mail response back from bestprice as to whether they were actually authorized like they claim to be. Have to watch out for what a store claims they offer I guess. Waited and finally got my 50s on sale from an authorized dealer. Still waiting to catch the 360 on a deal. Maybe waiting awhile.

If warranty does not matter than they were about the cheapest place I could find as I recall.

theaudiovideosource is too much money? you can get it for a hair over 200 shipped from them. and they are fully authorized, finding an authorized deal better than that is going to be very hard.

There's a cherry 360 in the speaker for sale forum right now for $125. LINK

www.harmanaudio.com (on ebay) must have sold all of theirs. They are not showing any listings anymore. www.theaudiovideosource.com (and on ebay) are still selling them.

I wish you had posted here first. I just got the 50s in cherry, but my 360 is black. We could've traded straight up.

It's not bad tho. The black 360 goes best with the TV and the cherry 50s go best with the entertainment center.

In the end I'll probably have all 3 colors since I think I'm gonna get the white es250s.

I guess you can't be picky about color when you get them so cheap off ebay. The black 50s were going for alot more than the cherry. I ended up paying just a tad over $300 shipped for the pair.

I have a whole beta system minus the sub. I have Beta 20's up front, C250 center and ES250 surrounds. I just moved and I am getting ready to hook my speakers back up before my new projector arrives tomorrow. I need the mounting template that came with the ES250's as I don't know where mine is at the moment. I tried Infinity's site but all I found was the manual. Does anyone have a link to one or can scan one in for me? Please use PM if you do as I will be busy hooking stuff up tonight and will just leave my email up which will let me know if I got a PM.

Thanks

EDIT: Found mine. Still had it in the box. Who'd a thunk it.

I have c360 center, beta 20 front and pvs pb 10 sub. Denon 987 receiver. I am looking for surrond speakers. Considering beta 10 or es250. Is it worth spending money and getting es250 ?

Thanks.

Depends on your room and your needs... I like the beta 10's only because they fit my needs and I like a directional effect with my rear / sides....

This post has been brought to you by the letter "H" and partially funded by intentionally starving a family of four in Idaho.

The 10's will save you some money for sure but I love the ES250's. The most flexible surround speaker made. I have 3 setup in a 7.1 system with the sides set to bipolar most of the time for that localizable yet somewhat diffuse sound. Then I have the rear one wired with the jumpers removed and set for bipolar mode. Works like a champ.

If you can afford them and they will work in your room I highly recommend them.

What I want is to upgrade my fronts to the C360 and 50 towers.

Same advice as mustang5o. But, just in case you don't know, the beta 10s and 20s are rear ported and may make using them as surround speakers a little difficult to mount.

It looks like everyone has caught on to harmanaudio's ebay store; the dang ES250s are going for the same price as I got the 50s for

madpoet,

I wish I had the room for them so I could also go that route. Unfortunately, I would have problems putting the 10s or 20s on the wall and stands are out of the question. The ES250s are about my only option.

Has anyone heard the Betas lisp? It is sort of annoying and painful to the ears when the singer sings a ssss... sound.

Can't seem to do polls here, so Ill just ask.
Who normally runs their Betas w/o grills?
Who normally run them with grills on?
Notice any diffs, on or off?

I run mine with them off, btw.

I have the grills on. They look much better and I don't hear a difference. As to the "lisp." I have heard it. I believe the Betas are providing a very accurate rendition of the material that reveal this in the recording. I only hear it on some recordings.

The grills probably have some effect on transparency, so I leave them off. Besides, they look better without them.

I'm just about ready to get rid of my ES250s for another pair of Beta 50s or 20s. Although this goes against traditional schools of thought, I believe that surround speakers should be direct. The belief that surround speakers shouldn't be localized or discrete is BS...I believe that when a surround track is mixed, there is no way that the mixer would be using things like dipoles.

P.S. Is anybody running their ES250s with a 60hz crossover? I'm under the theory that I would get smoother bass response if I used a single crossover point, rather than multiple ones. 60hz is just fine for the 50 and 360 front stage, but the manual actually recommends 80hz or above for the 250s.

I have the ES250s, and they arent exactly bass monsters. You could set them for 60hz, but they would find their own low end ...

They are great at diffuseness, but dont expect a bunch of dynamic output from them.

Are there any Beta C360 owners who have the center on top of their DLP? I've decided on every part of my new Infinity setup except for the center. I would like the C360 but I worry that it's too heavy. And I'm sort of against the "usual" MTM center channel so I'd almost rather have a Beta 20 for a center than to settle for the C250. Any thoughts as to what I should do? I'm getting Beta 50's for the fronts and ES250's for the rears.

The 360 is 34.5 lbs, and has no business being on top of a flimsy DLP. There's a center channel stand by Omnimount which is meant to hold a center channel on top of a projection TV, but the 360 would crush it.

I have a Sony 50a2000 RPTV and there is no way, no how the 360 would go on it...another avs forum member recommended the prime time vantage point wall mount, available at many stores (google it). I have it mounted on the wall and it looks sweet, WAF=100%. The speaker is right above the screen and the mount is totally sturdy enough to support the 360 (mine can hold up to 60lbs). Best$50 I ever spent.
