I'm using my 20's for surrounds and have them on shelves. The shelve brackets are secured with 2" screws into the wall studs and shelves screwed into the brackets. No problem with weight.

So you have them laid on their side. It's OK to do that?

Any particular reason why?

My speaker placement is 7 ft. off the floor because of room features. Mainly for a lower profile. On the side is a little more treble, upright more bass, up to your preference

Probably less of an issue the further you get from the speaker. If you're close and they're like that might cause some issues

I've had my betas for years and have thoroughly enjoyed them. I realize they are not "high-end," but they are the nicest speakers i have ever owned. I am building a house soon and they will be in my dedicated HT room. I just picked up some 20's and I really like them. Like others have said they sound great and produce great bass for a 6.5. I didn't really need the 20's (got 4 of them) but I don't have any plans to switch speakers anytime soon, and wanted to "future proof" my system/collection in case I needed them down the road (if movies go to 9.1, 11.1 etc). I'll prob. pick up another pair of es250's too "just in case". I now have the following:

4 Beta 50's
4 Beta ES250's
4 Beta 20's
1 Beta 360

Oh and i should have noted I have tested all speakers on my Emotiva XPA-5 (just music, not HT as I have my equipment in boxes now to move into the new house when it's built) and they love the power. I eventually would like to get 300 watts on my 50's (perhaps two XPA-2's) and leave all the rest of the surround speakers 200 watts a piece. When i build my HT room i am going to build an AT screen with 3 of the 50's behind. I think 300 watts a piece on the front stage would be quite "lovely." I will use the es250's for my sides and rears for a 7.1 system.

Hey guys, I have Beta 50's for fronts, c360, and 20's for surrounds. The 50's tweeters are not near as pronounced as the rest of the speakers, is that the norm? Audyssey xt32 really jacks up the level of the frequencies beginning at 3kHx - 16kHx on the 50's but not much on the others. Appreciate the help.

13 Beta's? You're worse then I am! I have two 50's, one 360, one 250, 4 20's and 8 OSW-1's all in white.

The tweeters on my 50's seem hotter then my 20's. Turn off Audyssey and try switching out the 50's for the 20's and see what happens.

I switched the speakers and no difference. I rolled up a magazine to listen and barely got any sound out of the tweeters. Looks like I'm in the market for tweeters and possibly crossovers.

They're good. Good sound out of the mid's, very diminished out of tweeter.

Hey wt61443....Thinking of adding the XPA-5...My setup consists of Pioneer Elite SC-65 Receiver, Beta 40's in front, Center is the 250 with Beta 20's in the rear. Would the XPA-5 have a pronounced difference on my system......OR should i just upgrade to B&W CM9's. LOLOL....since they are now on sale.

Thanks
Mike

I have my 50's, 250 and ES250's on my XPA-5. Was previously running them on my Pio SC-05 receiver, and it sounded like I had a new room when I added the amp. They really seem to love the power on tap. Good luck trying to stress the power supply in a XPA-5.
