Ideally if they were in driving range of Atlanta, that would be ideal. Would be able to inspect and no shipping hassles, since they are big and heavy.
Perhaps we're looking at different Audiogons. Here are the first two I ran across, since expired, in 30 seconds of searching:

http://app.audiogon.com/listings/sub...-theater-07728

http://app.audiogon.com/listings/ful...speakers-95747

These were both from 2013, granted, but they meet my criterion of telling you they come up for sale frequently. If you're going to wait for one to come up for sale in or near Atlanta.....good luck with that.

MARGARITAS,
they're not just for breakfast anymore.

I've been checking audiogon for quite awhile, trust me cherry ones that are in excellent shape with no damage to the cabinet, have the actual shipping boxes and fairly late models at a reasonable price are quite rare.
Btw I've had 3 different models of Aerials that were all used but in mint condition with the boxes all purchased within a 4 hour drive of Atlanta. I also had a chance to buy a pair of 20t in mint condition up in North Carolina but had to take a pass, but a friend of mine purchased them instead and they were in mint condition too.
Usually the biggest issue is lack of the original boxes, I wouldn't buy anything that large and heavy without them due to possibility of damage.
Also the last time I checked, aerial will not accept any speakers shipped to them that are not in aerial packaging. I think the boxes for the subs are around $500. If it's an older model, mr Kelly at Aerial recommends an amplifier upgrade due to an initial design problem, that cost is also $500.
Btw theater ax knows what I'm looking for so he'll let me know. He's handled my theta upgrades.
The actual upgrade plan for 2014 was 2 sw12s and cc5 in cherry. Was most likely going to purchase new but aerial has quit producing cc5 and sw12 in cherry.

Ya it really is relative. I'm sure there are at least 6 billion people in the world that would love what any of us have. I'm thankful for what I have for sure. No condemnation or envy for those that are super blessed either

I hope this will increase the damping factor and further improve the control the amp has over the drivers in the speakers.
Thanks for the replies on Bi-wiring... I was wondering if it was worth it going down a bit on wire gauge and bi-wiring vs larger gauge and using the binding post jumpers. Sounds like there are believers in a quality improvement so I may give it a try. Thanks again!

I had MIT Terminator cables hooked up to my 7T's. They have one pair the connects to the amp end and some kind of passive circuitry in the loop then two pairs of wire that hook up at the speaker end. One marked high, the other low. I took the out of my system a while back to try some Audioquest cables. I think I prefer the MIT's, I'm glad I kept them. not technically bi wired but sort of. Also, I bought all 5 of my Aerial's used. the 7's and SR 5's came in the original boxes, the CC 3 did not. I got lucky, all of them could pass for new.

There's a pair of LR5's, with stands, on the Gon for $2500. That's one hell of a deal. Kind of depressing when I think about what I paid for mine though...

If anyone has a desire to move up the Aerial line these may be worth considering at that price. Along with a CC5 you could have an awesome and seamless front soundstage.

David Lynch Current Equipment: Marantz AV8801, Proceed HPA3, Parasound HCA-1206, Aerial Acoustics LR5's (LCR), Aerial Acoustics LR3's (sides), RBH in-walls (rears), Seaton Submersive, Marantz VP15s1, 106" Carada BW screen, Oppo BDP-103.

Yes, I audition the Revel's a couple of years ago. Compared to the Aerial 20Tv2 which I now own, they sounded a little sharp or metallicy on the high end. Otherwise, a great speaker with an excellent low end.

looks like someone snatched up the single 10T that was on the 'gon for $500. I thought about using it for a center behind one of my AT screens but I must be getting too old to be switching everything around anymore. Hopefully it was someone here that got an awesome deal.

Thumbs up New speakers coming !!!!!

Just found out today that a new line up of speakers will be coming out in late May or early June. These include the new center, rear wall speakers and in-wall speakers. Also the 5T is slated. John at AV Therapy who talks to Michael frequently said they will probably plan for a demo for the speakers in May or June. So we'll probably get to hear an all new Aerial HT w/his latest additions. He is currently receiving the cabinets to put the speakers together.

That's good news, Class A.

I'm still drooling over a pair of 7T's...but my 8's are still doing wonderfully so I'm having a hard time justifying a swap.

Yeah...but didn't it take like 3 years, after MK announced the 6T?

He's a constant tweaker. Michael is very similar to the late Jim Thiel. He will not let a product go to market unless he's 100% satisfied. One reason you don't see a lot of revisions on his line like you see w/other speaker companies. I think one of the biggest pluses is the in-wall speakers. That in my opinion will be a very popular addition.

Just sayin'; 6Ts are a bird in the hand.

Totally agree with that. The 6T is a fine speaker. Michael Kelly opined recently that the 7T may end up being the all-time best seller they have produced at Aerial Acoustics, with time of course.

My local dealer has a pair of Nero Black 7T's. Agreed they are real lookers, very elegant. Just make sure you keep your hands off. They really pick up fingerprints. White gloves are needed.
