Just completed an amp bakeoff for newly acquired 7Bs. Using a Denon 4300's preamp, compared a Bryston 4B-ST (benched 300 W @ 8 Ohms) and a Sunfire Load Invariant (claimed 325 W @ 8, 650 W @ 4, 1300 W @ 2 Ohms.)

To my ear the 7B/Sunfire has flabbier bass, slightly more articulate mids and less harsh HFs. Kept the Sunfire because a sealed 15" Rythmik sub handles <80 Hz.

Strings sound great and there's almost no sibilance in a ~16,000 cf untreated listening area.

I'm using a Bryston 2.5 SST2 w/my 5T's. Tight bass and nice detailed top end. Bryston and Aerials make excellent partners.

$40,000.00. Is that for a pair or per speaker?
I thought it was $40,000.00 for one, but found out its really a BOGO special - Buy one, get the second for free.

The latest update I heard they will be available in the spring. The BOGO sale will still be offered.

If one were to describe the sound signature of Performa3 F208, how do they sound? Polite? Lively?

Let's say comparing them with the B&W CM10 series 2.

Also, how would they compare with:

1 - Focal Electra 1028 be II

2 - Aerial Acoustics Model 6T

Thanks!

Have not heard the Revels in a long time. But to my ears both the Focal and the B&W have hotter top ends. May sound great during a short session but over a period of time fatigue sets in. One of Aerials strong point is they are very balanced from top to bottom end w/lots of detail. Most Aerial owners will confirm since switching over their listening sessions have gotten longer.

I'm using a seven channel Datasat RA7300. I'm still looking for a good pair of 5B's for my rear surround speakers.

Current Equipment: Datasat LS10 w/ Atmos and DIRAC. Datasat RA7300, Aerial Acoustics LR5's (LCR), Aerial Acoustics LR3's (sides), RBH in-walls (rears), Seaton Submersive, Marantz VP15s1, 123" diag 16:9 Stewart Cima Neve screen, Oppo BDP-103.

Checked out the new Stereophile Magazine. They rated the 5T as a Class A speaker in the monitor category.
