Hmm 2-3months? You mean 5 or 6 :-) mine should have shipped today also. I have yet to get tracking info also. Kraig at Oz emailed me to say they were in and should ship soon. I'm thinking Monday or Tuesday but Friday would rock. I'll be taking lots of photos when I get them. Looks like I'll have to take my klipsch icons back this week.

It's been a long wait but I can't wait :-)... It's gonna suck dragging
Them up to the 3rd floor of my dorm. I feel like gonna have to buy an amp soon after using those 95db/1w icons and going down to the 6.1s, c3, and 2.1s.

Looking to upgrade my theater and two channel set-up. Do these two speakers even fall in the same category? I've only been able to here the Dali Helicon 400
so far and have just been getting started in the research end. I'm currently a B&W guy and will listen to the 803D's as well.

Yeah, I'm not worried about it. I trust Kraig. He has been great helping me out. I'm sure he is very busy trying to get all these out this week. I'll give him till Monday and then drop him a line asking about them. He said I was one of the first three orders that would be processed so I'm not sweating it.

Thinking about tackling a Swan DIY bookshelf as a surround addition to my 6.1's. Anyone have any opinions on these:

There are a couple of designs using HiVi drivers over in the Parts Express DIY showcase... The SC5.1 and HiVi Junior both look like solid designs.

I was considering the SC5.1, but I wanted something goes slightly lower hence the ported Tempus design.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of information about it.

what is the cost, for electronics ? are you set up for cabinet building = garage shop, perhaps ?

those look very nice. perhaps/probably too nice for surrounds.

btw. how do you move around your gear & furniture without scratching the floor ?

Denise. what sub do you have ? i moved my SUB120 out of the corner, to a side wall, made a BIG difference.

From my research it seems that most of the cost will be in the crossover components. It seems that HiVi uses some pretty hard to find inductors values.

It will cost me little more than 50% less to make the speaker than to buy it from TAI. Both the M1 and the Tempus are rare and pricey. Of course my finished product probably won't be as nice looking as pair of real Swans

With the exception of the router, I think I have the basic tools to put together a basic bookshelf speaker.

All my furniture has teflon or rubber pads on the parts that contacts the floor. The only exception is the table which is on a rug.

The 6.1s stock hourglass feet have some really sticky rubber on the disk part. I find I can make fine adjustments to the placement of them by wearing some thick slippers and jamming my foot under them enough to lift them, then rotating or scooting them a few inches at a time.

I take it we are comparing the B & W to the Swan 6.1 or Swan 6.2? If so this is not A true comparison as the price point is way different. The B & W look to retail at 9 grand for the towers. You can save some cash and gain Audiophile gear for half the price with the Swan F2.2 or the M6.

ok. i looked into it some more. imho, ymmv. i think you are shooting WAY high for surrounds/rears. WAY overkill. there just isn't that much info in the surrounds just justify it.

get a load of this . i am experimenting with placement. this is the best, by far, that i have ever had. i think up higher and angled down is going to be it. and the rears out a little more.

oh. and since getting the xpa-3, those speakers can't handle it (or it was the sound track). so i will be looking for 4 new speakers. the madisound build would save me tons of money. idk.

Anyone get tracking information yet? Apparently shipped out Friday or earlier, but no word from Oz. Oh, and I ordered a pair of 6.1s, so I'll join in the picture taking!

I just hope they arrive before Friday as I'll be out of town for the weekend.

they look GREAT !!!

they are not as orange as they look in these pics. the finish is GREAT. though its not shinny, as i thought it would be. its kind of a matte shinny, if that makes any sense. i'm thinking/hoping they can be shinned up to a gloss. if not, no biggie.

more reviews to come. i don't fell like typing right now. and i really didn't go over em real well.

Very nice Jesse, glad you got your goods......they look fantastic! Yeah your right though, they don't look at that glossy like I've seen on some others. In that last pic it looks like that's where I noticed the most gloss. Anyway they really do look fantastic and you'll have to report back your thoughts on how they sound with that amp. Then we'll have to talk about that audition!

the glossy thing = it could be good, or bad. depends on how you look at it.
i'm going to use these for a couple weeks, adjusting, setting up, etc. before you guys can come over.
i will report on the sound this weekend, after a movie, and a few tunes.
