Yes the midrange or overal imaging dull or flat. The 416 had a better representation sounding more natural.

Have Jamo D8 Cen, looking for new surrounds to timbre match

Just moved into a new house and current surrounds won't work. I have had a couple of different AV companies in to give bids on mounting some in ceiling rear surrounds and either in wall LCR or bookshelf LCR.
Problem I have is that I currently have the Jamo D8 cen and love it. Some installers are saying that I absolutely need to replace the center channel speaker and some are saying that I can keep it and be fine.
Any thoughts on what would best timbre match my current Jamo D8 CEN?
Thanks!

2 more D8's centers or D870 towers or D830 bookshelf speakers are the best match. I don't know how difficult those are to find though.

Are you in the USA?

Yes, in the US.
I found a pair of used D830's for sale. I just need to decide if I have the space in the entertainment center for those speakers.
Primary use is going to be for home theater, so I may look at replacing the whole thing and starting fresh.

Hi guys, i write from Chile and i saw most page about jamo speakers in this thread, i hope someone can help .

I own a Jamo S606 ( 2 front , 1 center and 2 rear ) 2 years ago and i like it the sound, it´s awesome to see movies and play games, not perfect for music but much better than another trademarks.
I have a doubt:
I have the opportunity to change my s606 front speaker to Jamo C605 ( without pay bucks and is a part of family).

In some forums i readed about quality of Concert series is superior in comparison to Studio Series (in this case C605 and S606 ) . Can you help me to confirm that information ?

I listen 50% music and 50% videos so , i don´t have preferences, i just want the better speaker between those.

PD: Sorry for my english , i hope you can understand what a wrote.

C605 is definitely a much better speaker than the S606.

So you don't have to pay extra for the C605? If not, this is an incredible deal. Buy them!

Wow Thanks, amazing receiver i hope one day i can buy ( when i finish my career).
The Yamaha Rx v-465 was part of a promo here ( long time ago ) was a good opportunity to buy a first setup ( Speakers are very expensive in my country ). Sure my next upgrade will be a receiver ! i am grateful for the answer .

I agree that the rx-v465 is not the most powerful receiver out there, but it should be plenty for the S606's (and the C605's) for them to sound good, unless you are listening to them at very loud levels. I don't want to have the debate here, but I would recommend doing some reading in the audio forums about amplifier power before spending money on expensive electronics.

Does anyone know why Jamo has such crappy distribution in the US? I might be in the market for some new speakers eventually.Looking around various online retailers Jamo has not a whole lot for selection.

Klipsch owns Jamo now don't they? Is it by intent to strangle this brand in the states? Most people I know that love music aren't very familiar with the brand.

Mainly I'm thinking out loud and was curious.I just wish Jamo would get a better push.

Thoughts?

Yes...jamo was bought by klipsch then klipsch was bought by audiovox. I believe they are phasing out jamo. A good example of this was when they started selling the jamo 426 towers rebranded as energy ef500 towers. Its unfortunate because jamo made some great speakers.

Jamo did make some great speakers. I have a pair of 809's that I loved, but can't use anymore because I went with a bigger screen and the Jamo's don't fit. I kept them hoping to be able to use them elsewhere in my house, but it won't work. I do love the way they sound though.

Do you mean a bigger TV? Was wondering what you meant by the 809s didn't fit. What color are the speakers?

I have a projector, had a 92 inch screen and changed to a 104 inch. Speakers were on the side of the screen, between the screen and the walls. Went with a bigger screen and the speakers blocked part of the screen, so I had to make a change. The C809's are black ash and I also have the c80 center also black ash. They are great speakers just don't have the room for them anymore.

Jamo never had much of a presence in the USA even before Klipsch bought them. I think Klipsch acquired them for their distribution channels overseas. Haven't seen any quality Jamos introduced since the acquisition, just cheap budget speakers.

I'm going to sell the 809's, bad thing is, I didn't keep the boxes, so shipping is out of the question. I had someone here interested in them a few years ago, but that fell through.

I have a complete (5.0) Jamo system with the same speakers up front. They really are wonderful speakers and do everything well. Normally, I am tempted every few years to replace/upgrade my speakers but not so with my Jamo Concert series. Just can't imagine anything better even at twice the money. It really is a shame that distribution for Jamo is so poor in North America. I'm hoping I never have a driver go bad as I am afraid I won't be able to find a replacement.
