LCR will be 3 matching Tekton DI placed behind screen 13' apart. I want to mount an angled baffle like the IC Silver/6 monitors on the side walls 22' from screen and connect them as rear surrounds. The rear surrounds will be 6-7' behind main seat. I have 6" of depth in side walls and over 12" in ceiling. I guess my options are

6x IC Silver/6 monitors

4x IC Gold/8 mini monitors(I prefer but can't fit in side wall) & 2x IW Gold/4 surround(footprint too big)(not baffled)

Will triad custom make a IC Gold mini monitor in a IC Silver/6 monitor box?

Tekton DI
2 Pendragon 10" transducers
Unique 4-way loudspeaker design
Proprietary polygon-oriented, triple-ring radiator high frequency array
Dual 6" mid-bass transducers
98.82dB 2.83V@1m sensitivity
4 Ohm design for optimum performance
20Hz-30kHz frequency response
400 Watt power handling

Thank you

Triad hasn't started shipping the RotaSat as yet.

I'll contact them today to find out what's going on.

Spoke to Triad yesterday.

They are still working on the speakers they showed at this past CEDIA -- no official release date however.

Two generations of silvers

Hello,

If I have a set of current generation silver LCRs and wanted to mate them with older generation (pre 2010) silver surrounds would they work ok together? I understand this is not the ideal set up but I can save a bunch if I use older surrounds.

I understand they have some different components but I would think triad would try to match pretty closely? I think it would be more of a problem if I was trying to mix and match LCRs.

Thanks.

I'm sure it will be fine, especially since older Silver surrounds will be dipole which means you are going to be getting a very diffuse surround field. Like you say, it would be more of a concern if you were mixing LCR's, but for surrounds, I wouldn't sweat it.

Dawn,

I have a question regarding the new satellite outdoor setup with sub that Triad has. Is the sub buried or above ground? seems from the site that it is a cabinet above ground but then some drawings show below ground? Also the main set, how many satellites? Finally, what amp runs the full set? a rack amp 350, saw mention of it on the site? how does everything hook up? oh ya does the amp have a line in for 1/8" stereo. i want to hook it up to one of the non amped zones on my nuvo grand concerto. right now those zones hook up to nuvo amps with a 1/8 mini stereo jack.

thanks!

jim

I recently added the Garden Array DataSheet to my website. It *should* answer all your questions. Let me know if you need any pricing or additional info.

hey dawn,

how do you power multiple satellite. i see the sub runs off a rackamp, but how do you tie a sub and 4-8 sats into 1 zone on a whole house system?

sonance has an amp that it all ties into it looks?

The Satellites can run off a standard 8 ohm multichannel amplifier or can be powered and daisy-chained via a Crown 70 or 100 volt amplifier.

so pretty much if i want a sub i got to use a regular receiver. use 2 of the channels for the sats and the sub out for the sub.

integrating it in a full home audio unit like a nuvo or russound can't happen.

I don't see why you couldn't use a Multiroom audio system with the Garden Array speakers and sub. Since the satellites can work as plain 8 ohm speakers, just use them the way you would with any other speaker. The trick is to have a line level out for use with a Triad RackAmp for the sub. If your music system has line level out, you're all set. If not, you may have to look for a line-level to speaker-level converter, and decent ones are not easy to find.
