I'm considering the following speakers for my 7.1 system. They are listed as THX but not sure if they are "ultra".

Klipsch KL-7800-THX for my front three speakers mounted inwall

Klipsch KS-7800-THX for side surrounds

Klipsch RS-52 II for back surrounds

will pair with a SVS PB12-NSD Subwoofer

Any feedback is appreciated.

You could use the KL or the KS for rear surrounds as well. Depending on your seating and room. That way, all your speakers are matched.

In my HT I use Klipsch Ultra THX 2
3x Klipsch KL 650 for the front + 4 Klipsch Sub KW 120 behind Stewart Studiotek 130 MICROPERF X2 THX-ULTRA
2x Klipsch KL 650 for Sorround
2x Klipsch Ks 525 Dipol
Room correction with Audyssey MultiEQ XT Pro and you can watch Avatar at 115 DB entire movie without having any distortion, no ear pain after the movie
If you want to beat this system you will have too invest big Money to get a couple of % better

Do you use the ks 525 for the side surrounds or the rears? and how far apart do you have the left and right speakers? And what are you powering the speakers with?

For the price of the Ultra-2 setup you could do JTR 228's or even 212's across the front, that would easily best the Ultra-2. Actually it would be pretty easy to best them for much much less if you can DIY

In our 11.2 installation (DSX type of configuration), we have 7 Klipsch KL650 THX U2 in the front, and 4 Klipsch KS525 as SL/SR and BL/BR + 2 SVS PB13 Ultra Sledge as subwoofers, this produces an EXCEPTIONALLY involving sound, totally credible with real life dynamic (DTS Neo X 11 Cinema processing, Marantz 8801).

Now you can see a picture in the signature, otherwise you can go here, posts 1 to 3 where you can see the various evolutions of the installation.
