They blend perfectly. The center has one less driver than the towers, so they appear to be well balanced.

That's kind of what you want though. They need to blend, but the center IS the focal point. Dialogue is 80% of the movie. The best HT experience is to have a GREAT center, since that's where most the information is coming from. Granted, they must blend with the mains too.

Where does eD ship their Speakers from? I'm trying to gain an idea how long it will take to ship to my house as I'll be out of town Friday and Saturday. If only 3 days, and I order tonight, they may be here Saturday and I don't want them sitting on my porch all day for someone else to take and enjoy

I may need to order later this week.

They are located in Newton, Iowa.

As far as level matching, that's why you borrow, or get one yourself, a sound meter from radioshack to correctly set all speaker levels the same from your sweet spot.
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search

Then you won't have to worry about the center overpowering the mains or vice versa.

Good, that's what I want. A nice blend. I had heard the 6T6 Center was a nice fit with the towers, but one of my friends recently got a 5.1 satellite system and his center was a little strong IMO. However, when I heard it I was not in a central location to his system, I was slightly to one side. It just made me question about my own future purchase.

I need to just order this stuff and stop thinking. It gets hype for a reason.

Thanks guys. I think I'll hold off until Thursday to order the speakers so I'll be sure to be home when they arrive.

A6-6T6 Towers, A6-6T6 MTM Center and A5-350 Sub ordered last night. I'm excited. I should have the speakers next week to put them through a test in my dedicated home theater. The sub will take a while, but I have no problem with that.

I'm somewhat of a noob when it comes to purchasing HT components. I've been reading the threads about the multitudes of brands of speakers but I seem to keep coming back to eD for their package/shipping included pricing. My question is that I've read many people who like the 6T6 speakers but for me I'm not sure they'd be in my budget. Has anyone tried one (6T6) vs the other(5T5) for fronts? This is what I was considering (I only need a 3.1 right now, I have surrounds already):
1X A6-5T5 MTM pr
1X A6-5T5 MTM single (Center)
1X A2-250 sub
I'm trying to keep to somewhat of a budget, but I'm a little flexible. I recently just got a Onkyo SR703, so now I'm looking to expand to 5.1. Any thoughts?

What's your room size? Does it open to another room, or is it a closed room?

Right now, its pretty much a closed room, around 12X12. It's a study in a house. However, I think about a year or so from now I'll be moving into an apartment, so then my HT will be in a living room. I understand that different rooms have different size/power reqs when it comes to speakers but I'm looking for the best all-around choice.

I think the 5T5s should work just fine for your situation. Especially knowing that in the future you could always upgrade the left and right to 6T6 towers or MTMs if you need more power.

My speakers were delivered today! 4 boxes worth. Each tower was in it's own box, the center was in it's own box, and the 2 rears were in one box. My sub is still waiting on the wood shop or something like that.

Now I just have to wait to get home and play with it all! My Onkyo 805 tracking information said it was delayed by a late train.....so I may have to use my Onkyo 505 for a few days until the 805 arrives. I won't even get to see them until the 9th and hook them up on the 10th. VERY excited though!!!

Also, for anybody who may be curious.....

Despite the busy holiday season, and these guys being slammed with orders for subs, it only took one week from my date of order, till my speakers were delivered. Not bad for free shipping!

what height of stands did you guys purchase to match your 5t5 or 6t6s?
also, my room is approx 2700 sq^3 with two open passages being covered by a curtain. Would the A3-300 suffice for movie watching? moreover, where is the best place to position a subwoofer? My space is pretty limited so would poor sub placement (besides one of the open doors) create a huge difference in sound?

I have these stands for the 5T5s I have in the rear:
http://www.standsandmounts.com/index...OD&ProdID=1020

They are adjustable up to 58 in high.

My room is completely open the rest of a finished basement on one side. So the home theater area is around 2250 cuft, but the entire area is over 8600 cuft. I really love the A3-300.
I have mine in the back corner of the room. It makes a nice end table, and it's out of the way.

I got the 24" for my 6T6 rears from eD. I was going to go with something adjustable from another vendor but because of these speakers weight, I didn't feel like dealing with stands that were not rated to support the weight.

I'll have pics in a few days. I fly out of Kuwait in a few hours on my way home.

Oh, and I did the A5-350, ONLY because it seems like such a deal to me, has recieved such great reviews, and I don't want to have to upgrade down the road when I buy a house. All this, and my new Onkyo 805 is going in a vacation style duplex back home. *evil grin* Over kill much?

Did you guys get the normal spikes for the A5-350, or the Hourglass spikes? I may send eD an email to see which is best for my setup. I just ordered the sub through the package, so I assume they come with the normal spikes. I have a capet on the basement floor. I may need the hourglass spikes to lift it up so it's not flat on the carpet. Someone recommended putting the 2" tiles under each normal spike on carpet.

I have the regular spikes and wish I had the hourglass ones. Mine is also in the basement and pushes right through the carpet to the concrete below.

"Someone recommended putting the 2" tiles under each normal spike on carpet."
What kind of 2" tiles?

They do come with these LITTLE metal discs that you can set the spikes on, which raises the sub off the floor. I used them, and they do work, but they are SO tiny it takes a lot of skill to get all four of them installed without knocking another one off.

My A6 Towers and A6-6T6 Center arrived yesterday. I was amazed as it only took two shipping days.

Wow, are these things packed well. I've only had a chance to unpack the center and one tower. I love the looks of them. I'm dyeing to get them hooked up to try out today or tomorrow. My 5 year old has a Christmas Play at Church tonight, so my listening may have to wait a day or two.

The Center didn't feel as beefy as I hoped it would. Not a negative, just a surprise. It's a very big sub, but the weight seems low for the size. My infinity speaker, which is much smaller seems to weigh more than this this. Again, this is not a negative by any means, just shocked me that my infinity seemed to weigh as much, but the eD is much bigger.

I had about an hour and a half to play around with the speakers. From what I've heard so far, I'm very impressed. I put in a test disk I've used for a while that my Infinity speakers had trouble with. (The opening scene of CARS, during the race, while Cheryl Crow's song is being played.) With my infinity speakers, it was painful to my ears. At the same volume level, the eD speakers were very pleasing. Still loud, but not ear fatigueing (sp?). During the scene when the car was passing out food in the stands, and the two vehicles in the crowd that are whisteling and talking, my Infinity setup couldn't reproduce what they were saying. The center was too overshadowed by the mains. With the eD, I was able to hear what they were saying. Then, the announcers kick in. On my infinity setup, you could barely hear them talk. Very muffled sounding. With the eD, they are crystal clear.

I plan to do some more testing some time this week, but so far....I really like what I hear and cannot believe the sound quality for the price. WOW!!!!!!

What kind of power do you need to drive the A6 6T6 towers. I have onkyo 605, and rti8 on order. Can somebody tell me if A6-6T6 would be better than RTI8 and my onkyo 605 be able to drive it.

Quandry-
I currently have a 5.0 Martin Logan Source system (four Source towers and a Matinee Center). Waiting for my A5-350 sub to be built and shipped. Question I have is the ML's are giving me a fit as far as being accurate but lacking awe factor. I just ordered an IPS-1 to attached to my PIO AV.

Question- I am within 30 days so I can return the ML to Magnolia for a refund, already like eD and have been checking out a set of 4 x A6 Towers with a A6 -MTM center. Collective thoughts on going form the MLs to the eD speakers? Specs are the same with the eD's being cheaper and a tad better. However Martin Logan has better "brand" recognition hence my questioning.

Cheers and thank you
Kinley

hjd17 - The Onkyo should be able to drive the towers with no problem.

moriartii - MLs are nice speakers, but if you don't care about the "name brand appeal", the eDs really are excellent speakers and a GREAT bang for the buck. Give them a try, I think you will be quite pleased.

eD has a 30 day return policy, so really if you wanted to do side by side listening, its feasable, your just talking about shipping price back, just keep all the shipping material. Maybe just open 2 of the towers?

You will be happy I think. I've been using Infinity RS-5 Towers and CC-3 center for years. There is no comparison as the eD blows them away (in my opinion). I've only performed about an hour or two of testing, but so far, I am amazed at the sound.

I've tried the Ascend 340SEs in my room as well. My friend just purchased them. I've been reading on them for over a year and was anxious to try them out in MY room with MY equipment. I was VERY pleased with the Ascends. Then, I read this thread about eD and noticed the cost was much lower than Ascends, and free shipping!!!! NICE!! I have yet to read one bad thing about the eD speakers. Granted, not as many posts about eD as Ascends, but I also looked at forum linked to eD, which had great information.

I found the Ascends to be more "Harsh" than the eD speakers. They weren't necessarily "Harsh", but they did lean that way more than the eD speakers. The eD speakers, at least from what I've heard so far, are not harsh. The Center Channel produced incredible dialogue I've NEVER heard from my Infinity Center (that cost over 2x of the eD center). The Ascends are great, and I really enjoyed them, but the eD are as good if not better to my ears. Definitely not worse. So, for the money, I'm very glad I purchased eD and would recommend them to anyone. Fast shipping, and packaged better than anything I've ever ordered online or purchased from a store.

I think I've said on here before, but we have been watching 5 movies a week since getting the new speakers. EVERYTHING just sounds SO much better because of them.

My wife even said, "I'm really glad you got these new speakers." We went from 5.1 to 9.1. I figured she'd think I was crazy. But she is really enjoying them too!
