The Mackie HR824 and current MKII series are highly praised. I was set on getting a pair, until I started doing some real research, and stumbled upon a couple of pro-audio forums. Pretty much all them blasted the Mackies for lacking mid-range, with bloated bass.
Instead, everybody seemed to suggest getting the ADAM A7s. Apparently, thanks to the ribbon tweeter, the HF output is very dreamy and smooth. The A7 only has a 6.5" woofer, but bass is still supposedly accurate and tight.
Is there anyone out there that can give me an honest comparison between the two? The Mackies seem to be a lot more friendly, with more watts and compensation controls, but I am believing the hype of the A7's ribbon.
