I know, I know they suck, but I am stuck with them for now. My question: I have an Onkyo 705 and I can an additional sub. Will this really help with my bass - I only have the am 15 sub now. Or would it be a waste of money?

Thinking of getting a Velodyne VX-10 - Subwoofer - 100 Watt. Amazon has it for $160 with free shipping. Actually is one of amazons vendors but is an authorized reseller which is important for warranty. You?

Since Bose doesn't make subs, it would help.

No idea just yet...because i'm also debating on just getting a whole new speaker set altogether. I could end up buying the 8 or 10" one from Aperion..just because that way if I decide I am want to upgrade everything, I can get the matching speakers no problem...but then again the same could be said about a lot of other brands..but Aperion does have their risk free trial..which seems very appealing. Maybe i'll score an entire 5.1 system from them, try out just the sub with my bose speakers, and also try out their entire 5.1 (most likely the 432..with the bigger sub..or maybe the 532 if i can afford it). and see if keeping all the speakers would be worth spending the extra $600+.

Yes it will help, Bose doesnt make subs, they make "bass modules" which disguise themselves as a very weak sub like box. Buy any sub and it will be better, I'd also buy better speakers also, but that's just me.

A sub could possibly help with the LFE, but male voices and other NON-LFE stuff will still probably come out of the bass-module and not out of the other speakers (cubes) because they cannot reproduce those lower frequencies. Not to mention, but by adding a real sub and crossing it over at 80Hz to get it running correctly could make the whole system sound worse. Therefore, you truly would be better off scraping up some $$$ and getting a whole new system. Sorry.
