Hello -

I am a newbee and would like recommendations on what receiver I need to get with the Infinity TSS-4000 (with smaller surround speakers) or TSS-1200.
(for my home theater). Room size is 17X11 and it is in the basement. Will be used for movies, music, tv. I am getting a HD projector installed.

Any ideas/suggestions are welcome.

I was thinking of yamaha receivers (v1800 or v3800).

Thanks!

Yamaha 3800 is plenty to drive Infinity TSS-4000 speaker system. You may also want to check the DENON 3808CI or the Onkyo TXSR875. Both are top notch mid-range receivers. Personally, I like the networking capabilities of the DENON receivers.

Hope that helps some,

DENON AVR 3312CI, Polk RTi A9, Polk CSi4, Polk PSW550, Polk RCi80

An even better match would be the Harman Kardon AVR's as they come essentially from the same family. Any model would work..if you want the advanced codecs, you will need to wait a month or two until the AVR 254/354 receivers arrive.
