Been a few years since I've been approached but they were really in a White Van haha. They were parked across from a branch bank watching the Drive Thru (Motorbank Stool Pigeon as the song goes) and the guy walked up while I was getting a withdrawl. I notified the teller but she seemed unconcerned and was probably in on it.

Hey... My brother bought the Epic Sound 7.1 surround sound speakers about four years ago... I'm just trying to find out if their better or worse than the other junk speakers. I haven't read anything in here about them... Just about the davincis. I would love to get some feedback!

This just happened to me. Two guys in a silver/gray SUV trying to sell some linear phase l6000 speakers. Seemed like nice guys and they put on one hell of a show -- one of them was in the passenger seat shaking his head and telling the guy he was going too low in price while the other was explaining this elaborate story as to why they had them/were selling so low. I was pretty damn close to buying them until I found this thread while looking up the speakers online (the guy even showed me the site that listed the MSRP at $2k).

Thank you louthewiz. You just saved me $150 and a whole lot of kicking myself in the head.

This was in South Florida in a Walmart parking lot btw. I don't think these guys will be stopping anytime soon so I wanted to give a headsup. Wish I could've got their license plate but they sped out as soon as I said no.

Chances are pretty good they were part of this group:

The White Van scam is far too widespread not to have an organization behind it.
