The dispersion angle for the FH8-W is: 90 degrees vertical, and 60 horizontal. Per tech support it is ok to mount it horizontally.

It is possible the mounting holes will line up if you turn the horn 90 degrees. If so that would give you the width sound stage back (try both ways if it fits and see which sounds best to you).

Hey everyone.

I'm on the fence. Moving into a new house in a week or so and have been pro-Klipsch 82 II for months until yesterday someone told me about Bic's 89's.

I can save probably around $500 (wife approved for some other stupid thing she would spend that on) and I'm not what you would call an audiophile.

Any thoughts?

If you can afford it get the 82s. You dont have to be an audiophile to appreciate the difference.
Do you have a subwoofer?

I'm looking at the full set from sound distributors (I live in Vegas).

Are the 82's that much better?

The Reference series is quite a bit better. Especially for music. If you have a subwoofer you could save money by not getting the 82s. They arent necessary with a sub. The 62s will be fine.

I would have to disagree with you here on this one. I personally find the BIC Acoustechs to be better than the Klipsch line. When I was looking to buy my speakers I used the Klispch as a reference to find out whether or not I would like Horn loaded speakers. From my listening the Klispch RF line is not as clear as the Acoutechs and have a slighty brighter sound signature.

Audio is always a bit subjective though but in the end for most people I would put the Acoustechs just 1 notch above the Klipsch RF for having slightly clearer sound but otherwise mostly equal.

Subjective for sure but you may be the only person I know of who has said that.
