It has happened to others, so yes, it's a possibility depending on their inventory levels and how they're feeling

Again, is it safe to assume by calling and ordering direct, I'd get the best price?

Emailing works also, but you have to submit an offer for them to accept it. I would think calling is just easier, but either way...

Has anyone ever compared the BIC speakers with The Speaker Company speakers? Mainly the 88's compared to these:

http://www.thespeakercompany.com/DRH...ctID=106183100

Or has anyone compared the 88's to Elemental Design's towers?

The Speaker Company speakers look pretty tough. I looked at the eD speakers, but decided to go with the BIC because of quality and value.

Let me know what you thing of them, I might end up buying a set of the HT-88's and the HT-85 center channel. Then later add a pair of the HT-63 surrounds. They seem pretty solid, especially if I can get them with an offer of $600 for all 5 speakers on ebay. The HSU speakers have peaked my interest as well, but they would cost $150 more than the BIC package.

I can tell you that the eD Towers and 6T6 center are top notch. The build quality on them is really pretty incredible, and the range that they can play is great. Their subwoofers will really blow you away as well, so doing a package is the way to go with them, as you get 15% off. I had the BIC H-100, and upgraded to the A2-300, and the difference is night and day.

I also have an A2-300 instead of the H100, and it is amazing.

The prices for getting an all eD package or an all Acoustech package with an A2-300 are about the same (88's,85,63,64).

I went with the BIC's because of the horns, and because the eD towers and speakers are only 6.5" and not 8" like the Acoustech 88's (which will get lower bass), but i'm sure I'd be just as happy with an all eD set.

Yeah, that's really the difference in a nutshell. You have to decide if you prefer Horns or Cones.

You can get the eD comparable HT-75 towers from BIC shipped for only $250. How is that a diffence in a nutshell? THE BIC IS $250 CHEAPER.
And BIC's more powerful speaker the HT-88 is only $399 shipped---MORE POWERFUL AND CHEAPER.

That wasnt the comparison. I was comparing the 88's system with an ed A2 sub and an all eD system with the 15% off package builder. The H100 isnt even in the discussion, because it cant hold a candle to the eD sub.

My arguement was that the BIC speakers were were better value than the eD speakers ----not the subs.

I too do not use the H-100 sub, I have 2 Hsu subs: The VTF-3 MK3 + Turbo, and an MBM-12 midbass module. I am just adding a pair of HT-75s and a HT-65 center.

eD do make great sounding subs... i'm not a big fan of their cosmetics though, subs and speakers. BUT, they do provide a good value still. I'm still waiting to see what the new H200 in the works will bring to the table. From what they told me back in march, it should be available at any time. It is supposed to still be a 12" sub but the amp is going to be much more powerful, it will have a different size cabinet, and they said they were tuning it lower. I've also considered getting the MWF-15 from AV123 but I dont think I want to drop 700 on a 15" sub just yet. Hopefully the H200 will be something like 350 or less shipped.

I ordered a pair of HT-64's from Acoustic Sound Design on Tuesday. UPS picked them up Wednesday evening and UPS says they will arrive in Seattle on Monday.

According to Craigsub List, the A2-300 gets 83 points and H-100 gets 78. Don't forget the A2-300 costs over $100 more and takes longer to get since they "build to order". Oh yeah - and it's really ugly and certainly won't match the finish of the rest of the Acoustech speakers (if that's something that matters to you).

That being said, I'm eager to see what the H-200 sounds like...

A2 $315 w shipping / H100 $250 w shipping
They no longer have the ugly finish, it actually looks quite nice now.
It took about a month to receive
The H200 with its specs will cost at least $400-500, and will probably be similar to an eD a3 or A4s model.

The H100 can be gotten for only $200 SHIPPED. And the H200 will be closer to $299 shipped.
And the A2 is not that much of an upgrade from the H100. It is the weakest sub eD makes.

Just ordered some HT-75's. Pray to god I get the 88's. That would be excellent customer service (not that Acoustic sound design has ever let me down with their customer service). Those guys have been great.

They shipped mine this morning. And based upon the weight (75lb) of the package, I guess I will be getting the HT-75 not an upgrade. Oh well...

I wouldnt really go off of UPS's tracking info.... they had some rediculous weight for the H100 when I ordered it.... like 20 lbs or something.

Amazing f**king speakers!
They are really something to look at, and EXTREMELY POWERFUL.

Welcome to the club of happy Acoustech owners.

Unless you already have sweet surrounds, you're going to end up like me and replacing your whole system (aside from the sub) with acoustechs. I recommend the HT-64 bookshelves over the HT-63, they have slighly stronger bass. Or, just add all HT-75s

I've got a yamaha 663 on the way and will be getting a 5.1 Acoustech setup. This will be my first home theater setup. Definitely looking forward to it. I'm going to order some speaker wire and another hdmi cable from monoprice. Do I need to get a cable for the H-100 or does it come with one?
