What a great thread. I have the Cinema Series system as well. I will get some pics up when I get them unpacked. Great work all and BIC is by far the best audiphile stuff you are going to find for the price.

MINE:
Acoustech HT-75 Towers
Acoustech HT-65 Center
Acoustech HT-63 Wide Dispersion Rear
Acoustech H100 Subwoofer (HSU designed!)

And the heart is a Marantz SR4001.

I am running a Hitachi 57 inch Wide HDTV for video.

Why did you got for the Marantz? What tipped the scales for you over the (arguably) more popular Onkyo 606 or Yamaha 663?

Ignorance. I just bought what I could afford and I liked the Maratz brand.

I am new to the forum and Home theater in general. I have searched the forum but there is no BIC owners thread. I guess this has become it. Anyone interested in starting one? I will have pics and an audition review as soon as possible with my new gear headed this way as we speak. Two notifications in the email today that my Marantz and BIC equipment had shipped.

I so excited (like that kid on the Disney commercials that says in a small squeaky voice "I cant sleep Im too excited").

alphavictor..I'm with you! I'm probably firmly rooted in the bic camp now (I tend to get stuck on something and it takes alot for me to change my mind) and would love to see more chatting about this.

I can't wait to hear how your HT75s sound.

This review really helped me out. It compares them to Klipsch Reference which is priced at twice the amount. BIC blew them away.

I just added 2 pairs of HT-75 for my surrounds and back surround speakers.

So in total I now have 6 HT-75, an HT-65 center, one HSU VTF-3.3 true sub, and a HSU MBM-12 midbass module sub.
All powered by my Onkyo 705, and viewed on my 73" 1080P Mitsu DLP.

It's all gooood.

All thanks to lilmike2069 and this thread.

Well this is like a new thread now! Hopefully we'll get more people to come in and post opinions and reviews. Have any of you used your speakers for gaming purposes also?? I game on the 360 and I'm wondering how Horn-loaded speakers would sound with gunshots and stuff. I know some people think that horn's are too forward and harsh but i've listened to the Klipsch F2's and I dont think so myself...but that was at work...not in a smaller room. Im just scared that some things will actually sound to harsh and treble-ly? lol and it will sound like a cheap HTIB!

I played that 'Uncharted' on PS3 through these and it wasnt harsh at all... it sounds really nice. The birds chirping and all the little details came in very clear and realistically. Even the gunshots sounded real good. The sub definately helped with the reproduction of the shots but the combo is just great. The game is in DTS so the surround sound in the game was also coming through as pretty impressive. For the money, I dont think that you will be dissappointed at all.

I use my speakers with a PS3, XBOX360, Wii, an Onkyo 606, and a PC.

Playing Metal Gear Solid 4 actually sounds like playing in a movie with its 7.1 soundtrack. Sound is crystal clear and it really sounds like bullets are flying around the room.

I highly suggest buying a pair of Aura Pro bass shakers and an AMP to run them for games and movies. Stick 2 under the couch (or 4), and you'll literally feel every gunshot and explosion. It really adds an extra dimension to the sound, and makes your sub seem 2x stronger.

With the new ATI Radeon 4850/4870 video cards, I can finally play PC games in 7.1 as well. Half-Life 2 sounded like a new game through the speakers.

I would love to get some opinions from all of you who own the acoustech package. Here is the thread I've started considering my options, but the acoustech I must say is an option that I've really thought about since I already own a pair of the Venturi and have thought pretty highly of them. I've been following this thread for a while so you can reply to my original or this one. I'll get it in either place.

Just noticed the SR-606 spiked almost $50 yesterday at Amazon *and* at 6ave.com. Was around $320 now is $370. What in the world is going on? Don't prices generally go DOWN not UP?

Good question, you have to shop around because a lot of guys will price hike a product when sales are good for the whole "poduct vs demand" thing. They may also see this forum and know what people are looking to buy. You are right however products are supposed to drop but take this for instance.

The Acoustech speaker package was being let go for about 599 plus shipping. The H100 subwoofer was beging let go for 180 bucks just 3 years ago. This was a year after its release. Now the sub wont go for less then 250 and the speaker package around 800 bucks. If the product is good, such as the reciever your just asked about it may be more likely to hike in price.

PS3 and 360 gamer here and these speakers are TOP notch for gaming. IMO, the PS3 kills the 360 in the audio department so I think you'd see a better experience there. I've been playing in the SOCOM beta on the PS3 and the guns shots and explosions from that game are INSANE.

How do you demo these speakers? Everyone says not to buy unless you can audition the speakers you want..but that's impossible when I can't find a single B&M store that carries this brand.
