I'm looking to upgrade my current speakers. I currently have 4 different brands making up my 6.1 system.

I have an Onkyo 605 receiver. I mostly use it as home theater but also use it for music. Probably an 80/20 mix. I'm looking at floorstanding speakers for the the front and bookshelves for the rear. I've been considering the Polk speakers, but am concerned that my receiver might not drive them very well. I've heard you need a strong receiver for those. I've also been looking at the LS series of the Athena speakers. My room is about 15' x 12'. With open walls to the right and back. I am able to hang the rear speakers on a soffitt in the back. I currently have an Onkyo subwoofer and will replace that with a Bic in the future. Any comments, advice, suggestion will be appreciated. My budget for everything is under $1000

Thanks,
Jeff

I have an onkyo 505 and I went with the RTi6s for mains and a CSi3 for the center. I am planning on adding a bic H-100 and small surrounds. with your budget you can move up especially if you want towers. go check some of them out there are a lot of good reviews on the RTi series
