I am using surround speakers that are rated at 25W, and the specs say the recommended amp requirements are 5-50/wpc. The center channel speaker I'm using is rated at 100W, and the amp recommendation is 10-100. My question is, which side should I be closer to? I'm trying to decide between a Harman Kardon AVR 147 (40 x 5), and a Yamaha HTR6050 (100 x 5). I'm afraid if I get the HK it may clip, and if I get the Yamaha it may overload the speakers.

Can anyone offer some insight? I've read the pinned AVR FAQ, but much of it is over my head. Thanks.

More power, if clean, is better then not enough power. My speakers are rated at 120, but I have a 200 w/pc amp driving them.
