I finally got it installed and fully functional. I reinstalled the device drivers and had to tweak a bit. Must say, the sound is not as good off my PC and the Wireworld Silver USB cable.

Also got my hands on a PS Audio Perfectwave and Directstream DAC's. Very nice sounding.

Thank you for the help Woof Woof!

Guess what shipped today, I might have the first one released in the wild.

If you get one, download the driver for the REFlink to make it work with windows.

100 hour break in here I come.

A little more info on the 2.7. They put in the box the REFlink and the VBS1 power supply. Retail is $2500.
It's breaking in now, definitely warmer than the 2.5. I like the sound so far. Should be a fun ride as hours add up on this DAC.

So no more 3 boxes, it's all in the one unit for a lot less.

There hasn't been much activity lately but I have a Bel Canto DAC 3 and was thinking of pairing it to an older Cary Audio 306/200 disk spinner that I just got a great deal on. From what I heard, the Cary is an awesome piece by itself but I'm wondering would the Bel Canto DAC make it even better?

Enjoy The Music!

Woof, why did you use a lower power amp for the center channel? I always thought the front three should use the same power.

VikingBoy, how do you like the S300s for your rear channels/

I will be using 3 REF500Ms for the LCR and 2 REF500Ss for the surrounds and rears. I was thinking about getting the REF150s or S300s to use for ATMOS later on. I have my REF1000Ms in my two channel rig but the REF500Ms I did like slightly more for the two channel rig.

What type of Pre-Amps are you guys using?

I bought the REF1000s earlier and upgraded them to MkII specs.

The REF500M sounded better than the REF1000 imho

I do like mine better also. That's why I went all 500s for the home theater. But thinking maybe put the 1000s upfront and put 2 of the 500s back to my 22 channel setup.

What you think. Does the center loose out a little using lower power to the center channel

500W is ample

The newer ASX module sounds sweeter to me than the older ASP

it did a good enough job of driving my rears making them go bang when called for. I never got round to trying it up front in terms of quality vs the ref1000s. I ws thinking of sending them away for the mkII (M) upgrade but never got round to it. I was using a Meridian 861.

Question about pre6 MCH amp.
The setting "0db set point" in "Configuration Offset" menu can have value ranging from 80-140. What exactly does this setting do. This setting is applicable to all the inputs.
Is it used for setting the preamp gain?
Will there be any side effects if I set this to 80 or 90 thus possibly increasing gain?

Helo. Do you know if Bel Canto Pre6 have HT passthrue? I have NAD M15 HD2 processor, and want to juse my BC Pre6 only for stereo.

It can be set to have HT bypass. This is the reply i got a while back from BC support when I asked the same question. However, I have not setup unity gain as per BC's suggestion. I just configured one of the input as 7.1 and hooked up my processor. I control the volume using pre6 for HT and happy with it.

I really prefer 2CH using SB Touch->USB DAC->Pre6 combination. If you already have Pre6 and want to use it for stereo, you can.

Reply from BC support
There’s no dedicated bypass per se, but any input can be set to unity gain (no reduction or increase in volume level from the source). The PRe6 has a pretty advanced user interface and the global gain (labeled CONFIGURATION OFFSETS in the menu) can be adjusted (effecting all inputs) between a numerical value of 80-120 (140 on some versions). Whatever this number is set to is where you would set the volume (labeled CONFIGURATION INPUTS) for the particular input you plan to use as the bypass. The default CONFIG OFFSET setting is 100 from the factory, so as long as you have one or the other of the multi channel analog inputs volume set to this same 100.0, you’ll have a bypass and can continue to control volume on the Integra.
