My Yamaha M-60 amplifier quit working; the "Protection" light is on. The stereo store has quoted me $100 to fix the amplifier, but I don't know if the M-60 is worth the $100 to fix.

Can someone fill me in on this amp? Thanks in advance!

The M-60B
was introduced in 1984 and ended in 1985
Power is 160 list price was $650

I would say for $100 it may be hard to find a replacement.
The dated Yamaha's were not all bad.

If it was myself I would search Ebay or other means
to see what they are selling at.
If in good condition, it's worth more in working order
then not. You should have no problem recouping
your repair cost as well as some extra for the pocket
should you decide to sell.
Here is a seach link of a few past ebay sales of this amp. http://search-completed.ebay.com/sea...ty=MetaEndSort

Good luck.
