Hello, I've been bitstreaming hd surround from my htpc to my 2309 and discovered a while back that dts-hd sounded noticeably clearer and louder than truehd. After some brief research I found this forum and the posts about a firmware update released for my receiver. Does this sound like I've been bitten by the denon bug? Can someone please help me locate the files needed to perform the update?

That's an awesome thrift store find for only 40 bucks. Were you able to determine the source of the radio interfarence? Are your cables shielded?

A few days ago, my 2309ci started acting up. On the Direct TV HMDI input when I would turn to it would try to lock in then reset and try again. It lock in. When I saw lock in what I mean is the videos signals outputted on the display would flash but never stay on. The unit was trying to output the signal, which it had been doing for 6 years but couldn't.

So I did factory reset, ran the Audiysss...and reassigned the inputs. Now...nothing is outputted at now. No audio no video. Even the tuner outputs nothing. I unhooked the HDMI cable for the DirecTV box and hooked directed to my Samgsung 4K TV and works great.

Question I suppose is that I want to make sure it's failed before I go out and replace it. I'm been wanting to replace it anyway..just didn't want to get forced into it yet. Is there something else I should try before I say the last rites?

Thanks

Bill

Try doing about 4-5 microprocessor resets in a row. Then power on the TV, wait a few seconds, the AVR, wait a few seconds, then the source device. If still no joy, purchase a new set of cables from forum sponsor Monoprice or Blue Jeans Cables.

------------
"JD" - Call 585-645-1006 or email jd@avscience.com for AVR selection and pricing discussion 8am - 8pm EST daily (incl Sat/Sun)
Authorized dealer: Denon, Marantz, Yamaha, Onkyo, Sony, Def Tech, Atl Tech, SVS, Oppo

Think you have a defective AVR? Owner's manual - Factory reset 4-5 times in a row.

Thanks! I actually haven't heard any more of that but I've been too busy to really solve the issue and listen for it. Perhaps moving things and changing hookups since then solved it.

No idea what is shielded, I've always had cheap rca cables for everything. Ill keep that in mind, but how can that cause radio interference on other inputs? Sounds internal to me.
