There will be only one kit, the same as "pro" kit from Audyssey. It is not clear if it will be branded with NAD logo, and they did not want to announce the price, but did indicate that the kit should be available at the time of M15HD release. August???

I can not help wondering if Kal Rubinson will be reviewing one... To me, the question is if the M15HD is worth ~ 2x the price of Integra 9.9. And Kal seems uniquely qualified to compare the two.

Has the M15HD finally surfaced in the US yet? It's been on the NAD site for a while...

Amleth:

NAD will introduce the M15HD surround preamp/processor with Modular Design Construction (MDC) at CEDIA.

MSRP is $4,500 for the chassis, plus $400 to $950 for each MDC module.

A quote: "Twin 300 MIPS dual core DSPs can perform the complete suite of Audyssey processing, including MultiEQ XT/Pro auto setup, Dynamic EQ, and Dynamic Volume."

From UltimateAV sited above:

"As with all high-performance products, the M15HD ain't cheap—$4500, but that includes all modules, making it a relative bargain compared with other premium pre/pros."

So it appears the $4500 MSRP includes all of the MDC modules.

Are the cards the same for the receivers and processors or are they different for the master series?

So has anyone who attended Cedia visited the NAD booth to verify when this processor will be available?

I'm in Brisbane Australia for a holiday and I took it upon myself to call the local Nad dealer. He has received one M15HD only which sold in 24 hours. Hes expecting more in early December. He said demand is high already so expects to sell out quickly. Whether this is to generate interest or not who knows.

His comments were: it was definitely a step up from the M15 with much improved digital sound processing. It sold for $7500 Australian, which also is a step up in pricing.

Also in Aus...

My store has sold four but has only taken delivery of two. Five more are most likely sold. Four more on order. They are definitely shipping.

I don't plan on owning this unit as I've settled on my Classe SSP800 after owning/auditioning several pre/pros over the past year but from what I know of the original M15 this is going to be a killer piece for the money.

If I'm not mistaken, the retail price has been set at $4500? I'm sure it will be worth it.

nad rep made update on their Facebook page - Oct 22
Nad was asked
"
Is there any update on the availability of the Audyssey pro kit for the M15HD? My dealer was not aware on if such was still going to be offered by NAD and if so, when it would be available.

I too as several others have mentioned believe that it was a significant marketing mistake to omit the Audyssey XT functionality from the M15HD. Simply adding XT in and leaving the Pro option in place would still allow the customer to have the ability for professoinal calibration for ultimate performance, but also offer a middle ground rather than no calibration if the pro calibration was not done.

Again would appreciate a detailed update on the M15HD pro kit

response
"Yes there is an NAD Pro Audyssey kit that we are making available. I am actually doing photography and packaging today. It is very close to what you get when custom installers buy a Pro kit right from Audyssey, Very high end mic.
Ill post pictures here when I get the ok"

That's good news about the mic input.

Anything about balanced outputs?

Thank you very much

no kidding - there is nothing out there
maybe having some issues on final product or adding Audyssey to base unit,
it looks like the T 175 AV Tuner Preamplifier (HD) still has few sound issues

I have couple weeks before final decision on pre/pro so hopefully
we see some feedback

BLOWN AWAY BY A NEW LEVEL OF SONIC CLARITY.

My impressions from 2-channel Audio testing:

10/10 - Excellent and will only get better with room calibration

The HD has the same musicality as the M15 but much more clarity. It really has my Quad 909 and KEFs working hard because I can hear every quick transition with the overriding impression of, hair-stands-up resolution delivered with zero harshness. It's simply smooth and 'holographicly' clear. I just listened to the M2 digital amp on Vienna Acoustics Mozarts this morning with the same material at Audio Exchange on Broadway and the M2 was clearer but on the harsher side (maybe it's the Quad 909's radically different circuit design), but the M15HD + Quad 909 + KEF iQ90s blow away the rig I was listening to down there. There's no question about it: the M15HD sounds and looks amazing (I got to check out a bit of video watching (really listening to) the Amy Winehouse DVD ) - bleeding edge!

I'm going to have some very nice multi-channel and stereo amps through here this week so I'll do a mini review for each. Expect to hear about my new Aragon 2007 and others: NAD T973; Bryston 5B ST-3; Crown K2; Carey Cinema 7 and the list shall go on...

I'm mostly playing lossless AAC through my Wadia dock to test the sound but I can also confirm that the up-converted/processed video looks better than my old DVDO Edge's output on my Sharp LC-46 LE700UN TV.

The LED lights and the front display are a much "cooler/brighter(if you don't dim them in the menu)/more uber-comforting-wavelength" ocean blue.

I have the Bryston 5B ST-3 hooked-up for the center and surrounds and DAMN does this thing look & sound amazing for multi-channel audio and movies! WOW!

Movies & Film Experience Reproduction ability:

9/10 - I think that the experience bests any digital theater or IMAX theater (aside from the LSC Dome [visually] and Hayden Planetarium [for content]) that I've been in. Don't forget that I haven't even run the Audessey set-up!

Video Processing:

10/10 - Bests my DVDO Edge by a noticeable margin and I haven't even re-calibrated the unit (or had a real isf calibrator in here to do it correctly).
Testing: Make it up-scale DVD and HD content and see how it does...
I know that it's hard to take pictures of TV images but here is what I see, from my chair, when I'm totally engaged in 720P upscaled by the M15HD:

By johnnynj, shot with Canon PowerShot SX120 IS at 2009-11-17

Blown out with flash:

Aside from lack of calibration equipment, the set-up was a breeze: I disconnected my old unit, took pictures, wrote this review and set-up my entire system (short of wire management) from 5-11:50 PM. I used the internal test tones to meter 86db at the listening position from all speakers (+1db on iQ90s on Quad 909 and +11.5db on iQ60c and +8db on iQ30s on Bryston). There is no noticable noise floor when a "quiet/silent" source is apparant/being reproduced.

Thanks to Spearit Sound and NAD for working with uncompromising passion and brilliance in engineering.

Aside from the audio brilliance, the video is remarkable. Everyone through here was impressed with the miracles that my DVDO Edge did with TWC SDTV but the M15HD's VP easily bests it.

At last somebody has one in there possession.

Preamp is not available in my part of the world yet.

All we need now is a comparison with the Classe SSP800.
