Hi all,

I'm helping my parents redo a small family room to be used more for entertainment.

We currently have a very old stereo, but if the parts are good, some of it may be salvaged. Please let me know what you think:

JBL L200 - giant, massive, 15" 2-way speakers. From what I understand these were a fairly popular model (and still go for around $700-$1000 on ebay). They may need a reconing or possible voicecoil replacement.

We have an inexpensive pair of JBL's 6.5" bookshelf speakers. I don't have the exact model in front of me, but they were < $200 for the pair. We could possibly use these as rear speakers.

Dynaco Stereo 400w - I know nothing about this - how's the quality? Is it worth keeping this and simply adding a new pre-amp / receiver / other?

Details here:

I know very little about either of these, but would like a way to get everything up and running for movie + music use as best possible. Currently, the pre-amp is supposedly dead (I forget what model), so a replacement pre-amp or receiver will be needed.

Any help would be appreciated.
