Just got a Wii, tried to hook it up to the Sony STR-DG820, but getting no picture. I have a cable box and blu-ray hooked up via HDMI and an HDMI out to the TV... those things work fine, but when I connect the Wii to VIDEO 1, no picture and no sound either through analog audio inputs. BTW, I did hook it up directly to the TV and it worked fine, anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Just curious, are you sure you put the cables in the Video 1 "INPUTS", opposed to OUTPUTS?

Yes, for sure. I think after doing some research I found the 820 won't pass component video through the HDMI to the TV... does anyone know if this is true? And if so, is there a workaround?

Connect component cables from the receiver to the tv (as well as hdmi) - you will have to switch the input on the receiver and the tv though. That is what I had to do with my pioneer receiver, since it doesn't pass analog to hdmi either.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that won't work for our setup. The LCD is wall mounted with HDMI and power hidden behind drywall, only thing I can access easily is the yellow/red/white cables on the side. I'll just unplug those when no one is playing Wii.
