Just bought a Pioneer 5020, PAnny BD-35K blu-ray player and now looking for a $400-$450 receiver.

Looks like the Denon 1909 is about $80 more than the 606. Is it worth the premium?

I understand that the 1909 is a bear to set up - is it that much better of a receiver?

I have seen suggestions that the 606 might "video clip" on HDMI pass through? any truth to that? Would that effect blu ray movies or my Directtv feed or is that solely an issue with computer input.

Thanks.

I would go into the two threads for both and see what problems people are having (Denon has less on average). This would probably help you chose listening to actual owners.

I love Onkyo (805 owner) but Denon is a fine product.
