Help Me!!! Please. Currently, I have a Yamaha HTR-5760 that I bought in 2000-2001. I like the sound, but it has no HDMI, and I would like to take advantage of the new HD sound. Here is a link to the HTR-5760.http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/p...4&CTID=5000400
My Blu-Ray player, a Panasonic BMP-80, has the Multi-Channel Out, which can decode the new HD formats, but then I lose the ability to matrix a 5.1 signal to a 7.1 signal output (my Yamaha receiver does this via PLxII). I really like the matrix feature, but cannot use it while I have the Multi-Channel input selected on the receiver.
I want to upgrade to the Onkyo 607, but the watts/channel is 90w compared to 110w on my Yamaha. Will I notice a considerable loss in power due to the 20w less power from the Onkyo 607?
Also does the Onkyo 607 have the ability to matrix a 5.1 signal into a 7.1 output signal?
Will the Onkyo have enough power to immerse the room with sound? I mean really crank it up. My system is listed below. Thanks for the help. Really appreciate it. Regards, Bill
