I am designing my system. I need to buy 8 receivers. My budget is $200 per receiver.

The receiver must have the following features:

at least one digital input (TOSLINK or SPDIF coax)
2 speaker outputs (left and right) or 4 speaker outputs is fine
50 to 100 watts per channel

Nice to have: rs232 control

I am building a 14 zone audio distribution system for my home. My audio matrix switch has 14 digital outs (which I prefer because i will have 6 surround sound zones). The audio matrix switch does not have analog outputs, hence I need to find 8 simple amps that have a digital input!

Thanks for helping!

6ave seems to be an excellent site for AV receivers, and is and Authorized dealer for Yamaha, and possibly other mfg's.

Maybe you could call them, and see if they would make you a deal on Denon, Pioneer or Yamaha budget receivers.

Another brand to look at is Onkyo, as I they seem to have made receivers with good power for their price, at least based on some benchmarks I have seen. I don't know that 6ave deals in Onkyo though.
