I know this will date me, but it seems like so much around us these days fits into the category of, "they just don't make 'em like they used to".
YES - YAMAHA!! I didn't want to go to Yamaha but had EXPENSIVE 4OHM only speakers and Yamaha is the only 4 ohm stable receiver still made. I didn't like the looks and thought I'd hate it, but after owning a Harman Kardon, Denon, and Onkyo, the YAMAHA is the way to go!!! HK's were bought out years ago and are now overpriced junk and Onkyo and Denon have seemed to go that route now as well. Marantz is "appealing" to a more "retail" market now so don't get that either. Pioneer receivers are junk BUT the ELITE line, only depending on the model, can be a good buy especially for the right price but Yamaha is a choice you will not regret. Force yourself to do it like I did, and like I, you won't be disappointed.
