I'm trying to use speaker zone B on my Onkyo TX-SR505 to power my bass shakers. I split the sub pre-out and connected one side to the left VCR/DVR RCA input. Then I connected my bass shakers (wired in series to get correct 8 ohm load) to the left speaker connection for speakers B. I set the receiver to output on both A+B but I get no sound from the shakers... This should work since I only have a 5.1 main system and the 505 uses the extra two channels to power the B speakers.

Am I doing something wrong?

Uh, yeah.

The VCR/DVR RCA inputs are inputs to the pre-amp. The sub pre-out is an output from the pre-amp. You have basically short circuited the pre-amp. Unplug things before you do any damage.
