I am running an Arcam AVR 300 to a Rotel RMB-1095 power amp to a 5.2 Magnepan setup - 1.6QR's (modded) front, CCR3 center, 1.2 rears & 2 ACI Titan II subs - but I'm unhappy with the sound. It doesn't seem like there is enough current being delivered to the Maggies. I'm wondering if there's a tweak I'm missing or whether I should be considering a different power amp (as Maggies are notorious for needing to be *driven*). Any suggestions welcome.

Isn't this you?

I gave an answer there instead of here
If not, you have a twin out there with the same setup And the answers still apply.

Large room may need a larger amp than the Rotel. The Rotel is no slouch, tho. As I state, it should suffice unless you like to listen at very high volumes or have a large room. Scottson says he has a large room but didn't specify. If you are he, then how large is your room?

Bottom line is no one can tell you what to do for sure...my advice is to either find a dealer who will let you demo a higher powered amp, get the Emotiva monoblocks XPA-1 (1,000 watts RMS/4 ohms) on a 30 day trial, or bite the bullet make a decision to just buy a higher powered amp, like one of the ICE Class D amps - Wyred4SoundGilmore Raptor, D-Sonic, etc. OR if you have the money, there's always McIntosh, Krell, Pass Labs, etc.
