Hi,
I have a Mac running with its speakers and iTunes in the master bedroom. The speakers are crappy so I am looking to upgrade to a multimedia receiver to replace it. What I am looking for is the following:
1. low profile, small system (50w/ch is fine)
2. support video - will add LCD HDTV later
3. can I stream iTunes from the Mac across the room wirelessly??
4. 5.1 audio

Anyone do something like this? Would love suggestions.

Most receivers I've been looking at are big and offer way more than I need.

Thanks for your help.

Rob

Here you go Rob...

And yes, you should be able to stream across the room with an Airport Express to the Marantz.

Like localnet said, add an Airport Express to any AVR to gain that feature:

If your interested in streaming videos and photos you'll want a full blown AppleTV instead.

This small AVR might intrest you as well:

Yep, AppleTV has HDMI out and an optical (Toslink) output as well

The nice thing about AppleTV is the user interface, you'll be able to sort thru and control all your media (photos, music & movies) stored on your Mac wireless at your TV location.

With Airport Express all you can do is stream audio via wireless, the control still lies with the Mac... unless you have an iPod Touch or iPhone, then you can use this FREE app from Apple to do the controlling: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/remote/id284417350?mt=8
