Thiel 3.6's do need an amp with some real guts. I have a pair of XPA-1's that are the normal amp for them. I also have a vintage Threshold SA4e pure class A amp that I can use to drive them. That's what I used for 10 years or more until I got the XPA-1's in 2009.
