Just looked at the specs for the 708. Holy crap: A SELECTOR BUTTON FOR EACH INPUT! You mean we don't have to turn a dial and iterate through every possible input while reading the name of each one on the display? An incredible step forward for usability (really a step back into the past when this was the norm).
Ah, but then we have the asinine front-mounted USB port. Yeah, because I want a wire dangling out the front of my receiver all the time. At the very least, put another USB port on the back where it belongs, so we can plug the iPod dock in and leave it sitting on or next to the receiver.
Only two optical inputs? That's kinda lame also. Thumbs up for FLAC support, though.
Question: You can assign the multichannel analog inputs to a source, right? I recently bought a Pioneer and found you couldn't do this... utterly retarded, and unlike any other receiver I've seen.
