The title pretty much says it all. I have a Pioneer VSX-D811S receiver that's about eight years old. Over the past few days, I've noticed that the volume on the receiver is dropping significantly for no reason. I typically have the receiver at a volume level of about -40db for average listening, and without any manipulation at all, the volume will drop to -80 or more. I've actually seen the display go to full brightness and watched the db level drop.

I've made sure that there's no children playing with remotes at the time and am completely puzzled as to why this might be occurring. Any ideas?

I'm afraid that I may have to replace the receiver with a Pioneer VSX-920-K that's coming out soon... Any thoughts on that as well?
