I need to find a reasonably priced (preferably under $1,000) receiver with 2 HDMI out.
Recently the price of high quality entry level 1080p projectors have dropped so much that a lot more of us can afford front projection setups, but LCD's or Plasma's are still better when you don't want to block out the sunshine. Well good news, prices have dropped so much that now you can have both for less than what you used to pay for just one or the other.

UPDATE 4/20/11; JUST BOUGHT ONE FOR UNDER $500 but I'll keep updating the list! Thanks for all the help everybody!

This is great but with two displays you have to have a way to switch back and forth between them and most of the HDMI splitters out there are glitchy and expensive so right now I'm stuck swapping cables to switch screens. I need to find a reasonably priced receiver with 2 HDMI out.

Here's my current High-Tech switching gear

So here are the models with MSRP under $1,500 that we've found so far with links to their Mfg's web pages and AVS owners threads. Most can be found for less than list price (some for a lot less). I'll update as new models are announced and prices drop on currently available models.

I've recently added links to external reviews to the table. I'm not familiar with AV Sites so if anyone has any suggestions as to the sites which do the most accurate, comprehensive reviews or if you see a review that I've linked to that is inaccurate or biased or if you just want to suggest a better review that you've seen let me know.

Here is a link to a google spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...0E&output=html

Denon's lowest level AVR with 2 HDMI Out would be the mid level 3311 with MSRP of $1199.

monoprice has splitters that work, and they aren't expensive.

Onkyos lowest is the Tx-NR1007 or 1008, msrp 1599 and 1399, can be had for a lot less. yes the msrp on the 1008 is lower then the previous 1007 model

I expect that the "tuner" he referred to would be a TV tuner, or cable box. Not many radio tuners need HDMI inputs.

Pioneer VSX-23TXH--5 in / 2 out--$1,000

FYI, the Pioneer VSX-9140TXH also has 2 HDMI outs (it is almost exactly the same box as the VSX-23). Prices have been pretty good on these lately as they are trying to clear them out to make room for the new 2010 models.

EDIT: The SC-25, SC-27 and SC-9540 all have 2 hdmi outs as well (I believe) and you might want to check prices on those as well.

I would wait to confirm what the tx-nr1008 has for the time being, I've seen a picture of the back and it doesn't indicate dual out for hdmi..

I think when he said tuner he covered cable box.

And for what its worth, the Wii doesn't use HDMI, just component.

the wii has the convertor box from standard nintendo av to hdmi, mind you, you're limited by res of the games you play on the wii, until the wii comes out in a hdmi variant console, you'll wasting money on the convertor plug..

i assumed the OP was after dual hdmi out on the AVR, sadly i've yet to see a 2010 model avr with both dual hdmi outs that has network features under 1,100

as for components to use hdmi..

2 outs pj and tv or 2 tv's
inputs: xbox 360, ps3, br player, multidisc dvd player, cable box pvr, hd cam, and anything else yhou wish to connect to the avr/pre-amp

Marantz 6003 and a switcher from monoprice (5X1) should do the job quite nicely. Try to find a new one or look at them re-furbed at accessories4less.

Does anyone make a receiver with a "Zone 2" HDMI out? Or do they all have the same thing on both outputs?

Thanks for the Marantz tip but I don't think the Pioneer VSX 33 has multi HDMI out. (Edit; My bad, John was right The Elite will have 2 outs)

well according to product sheet the vsx-33 is a 9.1 amp with 7 chan 110watt support with aid of zones 2/3 you 11.1 if you so wished though you wouldn't use the avr's amp section if you did..

mind you it can also be said that don't rely on documentation pictures as that picture can a higher end models..

It seems that since the VSX-33 is the replacement for the VSX-23TX, which has two HDMI outputs, it might be safe to assume it will.

You can have both now at a reasonable price (in the $3,000 dollar range) but paying over $2,000 for a receiver with multiple HDMI out is a budget buster, and most of the HDMI splitters out there are glitchy and expensive so right now I'm stuck swapping cables to switch screens. I need a reasonably priced entry level multi HDMI out receiver.

So these are the multi HDMI out models with MSRP under $1,500 that I and others here have found so far. (I'll update as new models are found and prices drop);

Yamaha RX-V2065-----5 in / 2 out--$1,399

I was reading a post by Krik in another thread and he mentioned the RX-V767 will have dual HDMI output when it is released.

Does anyone know if I can use my cable input to watch one game on HDMI 1 on the LCD, and a second tuner input to watch another game on HDMI out 2 on the projector?

an incite would be to go the mana's web side and download the specific manual to see what you can and can't do to in regards to the multiple hdmi outs..

Thanks for the "incite" (you must mean "insight") I'll go to the "manafacturers" (you probably meant "manUfacturers") "web side" (I'm sure you meant "website"). I'm sorry if my question didn't seem intelligent enough for you but I hoped someone owned one and would save me the research by answering "yes" or "no".

LOL. yeah, if your gonna make fun of him at least spell it right. But seriously, I wish someone owned one and could just post the info for you but all the manufacturers do have manuals available for all their models on their "web sides". It's not hard to look them up. I'll post the info later for ya.

yes I meant manufactures website, I also meant insight.. I was likely half asleep when i posted the comment...

It's ok to ask Opinions from owners, I would say a lack of foresight that not many people on this forum will likely not have this current years avr's to give a valid opinion in regards to the hdmi outputs on the OPs avr selection, thus is why i said to go and download the manual from from the manufactures website and look for himself..

I just thought I could find an easy answer. The manuals are not too clear. It seems that the outputs are meant to be simultaneous to both screens from one source or Zone 2 audio only. Anyone know?

I've read a couple of the manuals and as far as I can tell it's one video source at a time to one or both of the screens and one audio source simultaneously to one or two other Zones (on models with Zone 2 and Zone 3).

Thanks Alan, can you buy that retail anywhere, or only through installers?
