Hi guys, I have searched through the archive but did not see anything so will appreciate any help.

I have an Onkyo TX-SR608, which have:

HDMI In's: DVR, WD TV Live, Xbox 360
Analog Audio In (TV/CD Input): Sonos ZR90

I have hooked up a 5.1 system as well as Zone 2.

The problem is that if I play any HDMI sources, I cannot get it to play in Zone 2. Also, Sonos would only play in Zone 2 and not through 5.1

I would appreciate any replies.

Hi tiger1234, only analog input sources are output by the ZONE 2.

For Sonos to play through 5.1, set "TV/CD" Digital Audio Input to none (-----).

Thanks so much for the reply!

I can hear the ZP90 in main area now. Now I just have to figure out how to play it with the TV off, right now if I turn the TV off, 608 also turns off.

Should I just run analog audio cables to 608 to be able to hear in zone 2?

If the receiver and tv are turning off together most likely HDMI-CEC feature is set to "On". Check your Tv menu under HDMI-CEC feature and set this to Off. Some HDMI-CEC trade names are Samsung is AnyNet+, Panasonic is Viera Link, Pioneer is Kuro Link, Sony is Bravia Sync, etc....

Correct, the HDMI sources will need analog audio cables to play out to Zone 2.
